The wild bird itself can carry the virus but it doesnâ t get sick. Can be spread by saliva, nasal secretions and feces. Can be spread by aerosol via the respiratory tract and breathing in contaminated faeces. Fecal-to-oral transmission is the most common way to spread the virus among birds. Not known if virus can spread from person to person.
