Monday, March 31, 2008. Me and fresa were assigned to research on how the avian flu is spread around. And I found out a couple of things on the mode of transmission. The wild bird itself can carry the virus but it doesnâ t get sick. Can be spread by saliva, nasal secretions and feces. Can be spread by aerosol via the respiratory tract and breathing in contaminated faeces. Fecal-to-oral transmission is the most common way to spread the virus among birds. Not known if virus can spread from person to person.

This is what happened to a dialysis patient who is hospitalised in Intensive Care Unit after consuming star fruit. The news was found in The Star newspaper.
