View From the Tenth Level

Sunday, June 06, 2010. After a run of nearly five years or so, I've decided to retire my blog and turn to other things. My life is about to get a little crazy, leaving not much time for blogging, lingerie modeling, or much else. I'll be leaving this up for a while, for posterity, of course. It's been fun and no doubt, somewhere down the line, I'll have a new blog. Be sure to look me up. Posted by Melanie O. at 6:01 PM. Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Guess who's coming to dinner? http://viewfromthetenthlevel.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, April 27, 2006. The day has come that I've dreaded for a while. No - it's not menopause. I'm not about to become a grandmother (at least, I hope not), and I don't owe a back tax bill. No, the day I'm talking about is the day they make me a. But I get things done. Guess there will be a little bit of Mom in the management me after all. Posted by Melanie O. at 6:38 PM. Monday, April 24, 2006. Vindicated, I progressed to the bras with A cups, and they fit perfectly. I came home with two bright ...

Monday, March 29, 2010. The black hole of redecorating. To make up for it, the second best thing was to start redecorating. I've always loved Mid-Century Modern decor. Enough to be nostalgic and fun. I've done almost all of my redecorating via eBay and have been able to get teak and teak veneer furniture for a song. I've purchased vintage barkcloth curtains and funky mid-century china as well as my starburst clock. No more books stacked on my nightstand! No more DVDs on wire baker's racks! Youre so funny...

Monday, March 08, 2010. People often ask me why I'm usually in a good mood, even keeled - unflappable even. The secret? I enjoy simple pleasures and try to look for them every day. Simple pleasures make every day a good day. Sometimes, my simple pleasure is a good cup of cappuccino, seeing my roses in bloom, or receiving a compliment on my shoes. It can be a smile and hello from a complete stranger. Or finding an email from a friend or family member in my Inbox. Posted by Melanie O. at 2:25 PM. Female, A...

Sunday, February 14, 2010. I usually don't look forward to Valentine's Day. It's one of those contrived holidays used to sell cards, flowers and chocolates to mostly men who get guilted into feeling that they haven't shown their love for their partner enough in the past year. I like celebrating Girlfriends' Day instead. I wasn't expecting anything, except perhaps a rose cut from one of my bushes, presented this morning with a cup of tea. Now I feel ashamed that I doubted Dan. Labels: Chinese New Year.

Thursday, June 29, 2006. My life as a married career woman has settled into a predictable routine, in which â working for the manâ has taken over, and â snogging the husbandâ plays second fiddle. My day goes something like this:. Get up at 6 am. Husband has already left for work. House is quiet. Fumble around looking for clean underwear. Hopefully, decision on â what to wearâ has been made the night before. Go to work with wrong shoes or underwear on inside out. Fall asleep briefly on the train. Stare at...

midnight/noise: November 2006

http://midnightnoise.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html

Random observations of a blue eyed night owl. Thursday, November 30, 2006. Not another bad show! Yes, Crave was not what I had hoped it would be. The venue was super hip, the lighting was good (which I had not expected), I got a table with a nice black drape, the other vendors were nice, everything was in play for this to be a really great show. However. And get some holiday shopping done! Posted by kimono hime @ 2:37 PM. Monday, November 27, 2006. Not bad, eh? Posted by kimono hime @ 7:24 PM. I talked t...

Random observations of a blue eyed night owl. Sunday, February 12, 2006. It's 1 am. and don't want to go to bed. But I am tired. Got to wear full kimono gear for the second Saturday in a row. In my tiny little conservative resort town. In winter. But it was sooooo fun. A Japanese woman in line at the grocery store was very amused. I smiled and told her she still looked more Japanese than I did. I'm impatiently waiting for 3 packages from Japan right now. One new kimono (blue! Oregon, United States. Help ...

http://anthonystreeoflife.blogspot.com/2009/11/strangest-concert-ive-never-been-to.html

Anthony's Tree of Life. Branching out into the world. Tuesday, November 17, 2009. Strangest concert I've never been to. I was scrambling to think of what to say next. I thought that I should tell her that I liked the Trouble in Shangri-La album, but before I could say anything, she hugged me and embedded my face in her boobs. She then turned around and looked at my roommate, pulled out the chair directly across from me, got on her knees and looked downward, like she was praying or something.

Anthony's Tree of Life. Branching out into the world. Thursday, December 18, 2008. You often hear stories about people slipping and falling in the shower. As far as I know, it's never happened to anyone I know, and I never thought it would happen to me. Needless to say, I was surprised when I went face first this morning. Now I have a nice little gash on my left knee and a bathtub without a shower curtain. Now I'll have to take baths instead of showers. Wednesday, December 17, 2008. Musings from Melba St.

Anthony's Tree of Life: St. Peter's Church and El Diablo

http://anthonystreeoflife.blogspot.com/2009/06/st-peters-church-and-el-diablo.html

Anthony's Tree of Life. Branching out into the world. Friday, June 5, 2009. St Peter's Church and El Diablo. As I walked by, I happened to notice that a light was on. I thought that I should take a look, although I almost second guessed myself. What if people should see me? They might think I'm breaking in. My curiosity got the best of me, so I cautiously walked up the steps and looked in the front door. I hope the lights are on again next time I walk past. I'd like to take a picture. Runnin' Down a Dream.

View From The Terrace. Musings from the pitch. April 22, 2014. We all knew this was coming. It was evident for months that something had to change and this morning the news came that David Moyes had been sacked as manager at Manchester United. I know there have been many reasons that supporters can point to throughout the season, but I think this was doomed from the beginning. Yes, yes, I know he has a right to bring in his own people. But if your people haven’t done squat how do you justify it? Moyes&#8...
