Wednesday, February 8. Going Home at Last. One of the most poignant events during the Katrina period was the temporary burial of Meyer Lachoff z“l, an elderly man who died in New Orleans during the terrible days that immediately followed the hurricane. His body was recovered by ZAKA and brought to Baton Rouge. We gave him a place to rest with our misphacha in Liberal Cemetery until it would be possible for his son to have him brought home. May he find peace under the wings of the Shechinah.

Jews, Jewish, and Judaism from a Chinese Perspective. China: You have a lot of Problems…Let’s focus on the Solutions. Last week I spent a majority of my time researching into “China’s biggest problems”. I put this in quotes because everyone has an opinion on this topic, mostly Western media with a big opinion on what’s going on in the Eastern giant — soon to be world superpower. All this reading about challenges has got me thinking…whenever I see a challenge, I also see opportunity. Opportunity...Oh, I a...

Wednesday, September 6. Story in the San Francisco. Reporter Dan Pine recently interviewed me for a “Rita- one year later” story. The story is quite good, but I wish he had reminded Bay Area readers of the help we had received from our friends in San Francisco and Berkeley.
