Field of Dreams: Networking

http://www.riceanyone.blogspot.com/2006/08/networking.html

Wednesday, August 23, 2006. Classes started yesterday. I am taking Animal Biology and Chemistry with about 300 freshman. Both of our professors assured all of us it's unlikely we will get an A in their class. Isn't that encouraging? I think the classes will be fun though as both of the profs seemed excited about the material even though none of us were. . . It actually reminded me of when I lived in Holland because most of the Dutch asked me the same question. Anyway, when I was leaving the picnic I ...

Classes for me ended on 6/30 so the past two weeks at school have been slow. I've had a class here or there - but we played games instead of learning a new lesson! Yesterday I kicked it with the girls basketball team; we stretched (they counted in English), did drills, and played some 2-on-2.took me back a few years. The gym was so HOT that you better be...This ...

I woke up Sunday morning to falling snow and couldn't be more pleased. It snowed all day long so we skiied in, what I would consider, blizzard conditions! Posted by Mary at 1:17 PM. Monday, February 06, 2006. First 2 Days in Brazil. Before heading home that Saturday night, I could manage to stop at a beauty shop and get my nails done. It was great. Then, I stopped by my grandpaerents' house, which happens to be a few meters away from mine, and we ate a snack together while chatting for an hour or so. Today I am going to join my mother at the school where she teaches, and I will start preparing for my research. Let us keep in touch! Posted by Vivian&Mansur @ 2:18 AM.

Friday, July 28, 2006. Mary, Frazer and Ross organized a get-together last weekend. Our plan was to have fellowship and enjoy the presence of those who would be leaving Japan this summer, including Mary and Ross. Our original thought was to have a picnic at a park, but since the rain surprised us, we took our food to a karaoke box and sang away! It was awesome and all of us enjoyed a 4-hour singing party! Tuesday, August 29, 2006. My love and I! Posted by Vivian&Mansur @ 1:11 AM. Links to this post. Sunday, August 27, 2006. After church this evening we went with a total of 10 people to a Korean restaurant. It was our second time and the food is amazing! We should go more often and try different dishes. Mansur ordered a Japanese sake, which is served with a small dish underneath the glass so that the sake that overflows can be poured into the glass after you take the first sip. It was delicious!
