For our Portland Calcotada, chef Scott Ketterman of Simpatica grills the calcots grown by Viridian Farms, using vine clippings from them as well. The exterior of the onion is deeply charred, and then they are served from terra cotta roof tiles with a dipping sauce of romesco or salbitxada, made from chiles, almonds, garlic and tomato.

Monday, July 13, 2015. We just hosted an amazing meal here at the farm - With Chef Tim Wastell and an top notch crew from outstanding in the field and a fist full of guest chefs! Thank you ALL for your amazing art! Tim you are one of Portland's FINEST! And a HUGE thank you to all the guests who flew in from all over the country for this amazing day! And thank you all that took home wine! There was cherry wood smoked chicken in the infamous smoker! My cute hubs helpin' set up! There was a beautiful table.

Tuesday, May 19, 2015. A little trip down memory lane on a horse. I was rooting though some old boxes I found some early pictures of my horse addiction. Annie belle and a shirtless me age 6 I think. This was Leo - he was a very special horse who totally stole my heart! He and I were peas and carrots. ; ) I think I'm 12 or 13 here. although the first love of my driving life was stardust no photo of her sadly but this is about what she and I looked like all summer long. hours of fun! The rose will be out in a week or so! Keep an eye out! Sorry I've been a bad blogger. but I will try to come back more often. Between that and the cacophony of frogs, incests flying and the elk enjoying the spring grass. this place is teeming with life. wild and domestic : ). Gotta love spring blossoms. Sunday, April 19, 2015. Turning soil to touring with somms. It was a great day of working with my horses they were focused and worked really nicely. We had a super nice crowd out at the museum and I think even though the weather was a mixed bag we all had a great day of plowing up the earth for spring planting. Sarah - whispering sweet nothings to Huston! He's totally in love with her! My fist winemaker dinner was at 90 acres so lucky me got a farm tour before dinner! Happy to see my sweet hubs too!
