Sunday, November 15, 2009. I know I am not the first person to discuss this question, but is Christianity Idolatry? In both versions of what we now call the "Ten Commandments" (the version in Exodus 20, on the tablets that Moses broke, and the version in Exodus 34), "Thou shalt have no gods before me" is right at the top. Some translations word it "You shall have no other gods before me" or "Thou shalt worship no other god". Why does it break this? Not Separated At Birth? You can't have it both ways....
