Which brings me to another interesting aspect - power. We have one long extension cord running from the house all the way out to our bus and in through one of the windows (remember those school bus windows that are really difficult to open and close because you have to pinch the little gray tab-like buttons? Unschooling Snapshots: July 2011
http://unschoolingsnapshots.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 29, 2011. Baking with my kids always makes me smile. Besides the joy of making (and eating! Something together, there's the joy of playing around with fractions, measurements, doubling, and dividing. I think this always catches my attention, how interesting and useful calculations can be, because it is set against my memory of sitting at a school desk agonizing over trying to understand these same concepts removed from real life and placed instead as symbols on chalkboard and paper. Gandhi...

There was an error in this gadget. A Brief History of Man and Rat. Posted on : 9:30 AM By : Nic. In : cool stuff. We thought we may have killed 'the rat'. What we have discovered is that this is not a few rats, but many rats, sending one rat into our bus every day to bring back whatever we have left in payment for their little rat mafia. Yesterday, I was sitting at the computer and Ana came into the front of the bus quite loudly and talking, and suddenly yelled out, "The RAT! One of the reasons there wer...

Unschooling Snapshots: April 2011
http://unschoolingsnapshots.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 16, 2011. Baltimore, MD: Inner Harbor, Maryland Science Center. Riley at the earthquake table. Me with the veggie woman. Learning about the connection between smell and taste. Nothing like a hands-on exhibit of the large intestine that makes bowel sounds as you push the pretend food through! Trying to walk like a penguin carrying an egg. Back outside to look at the Harbor and wait for Matt to meet up with us after work. Links to this post. Listening to the audio tour. Links to this post.
