Down on the Homestead. Down on the Homestead. Reconnecting with nature…. loving the land…… healing naturally. Winter Solstice Yule at Our House. December 23, 2014. The shortest day of the year…. mid-winter. From here, the days begin to grow longer. We usually celebrate with a more traditional meal and a Yule fire, where we burn the Yule log. (This was from a dead limb cut from the apple tree in front of our place in Lion’s Head.). This year we had a lamb roast, winter veggies and mashed potatoes. Weather...

Down on the Homestead. Down on the Homestead. Reconnecting with nature…. loving the land…… healing naturally. January 6, 2016. I left a short sprig of the tomato stem with a couple of good growing points on it rooted in the system. I’m hoping it will grow back. And I planted several cuttings that were rooting on the windowsill. I wonder which will grow (and produce tomatoes) sooner? Ah…. what to do with a green thumb in January? Leave a Reply Cancel reply. The egg dried for about 24 hours into a thickish layer (which has an oily sheen on top). Category : celtic celebrations. Winter Solstice Yule at Our House. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. The Dark Season | Down on the Homestead
https://homesteadingwithwaterlily.wordpress.com/2015/11/03/the-dark-season
Down on the Homestead. Down on the Homestead. Reconnecting with nature…. loving the land…… healing naturally. November 3, 2015. It’s been almost a year since I last posted. We have continued on in much the same vein…. chickens, gardens, herbals and nature. There have been some changes to share. I also built a “compound” at the bottom of the hill to hide all our machines and containers inside. It is also where the burn barrel and the garden compost is located. GOOD NEWS: Marek’s is not transmitted t...

http://ahostagewhowilldrive.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 31, 2009. Things are moving along over here! First, our big news, somebody loves our home enough to buy it! Squeeked in, with only The Man's good nature getting them in the door.). The shedding and preparing continues. We are getting to the nitty gritty. How many cookbooks do we take? How many days of clothes to wear before washings? Our home is mostly empty (yet still messy :O). But then we are out of here. Here is Families on the Road downsizing page. Discovered there (for now). Has given ...

Art Quilts and More by Lori Gravley, Yellow Springs, Ohio. Tuesday, August 30, 2011. John S lens, Alfred Infrared film. Matty ALN lens, Ina's 1969 film. I love the...
