Jackie's mid life crisis gap year. A jaunt around world heritage sites, with some Lego. Mahabodhi Temple Complex at Bodh Gaya. We interupt these ramblings…. September 9, 2013. 8230;for a real-time update! Nowhere 2013 – the centrepiece of our camp, a house called Pervy Whims. But no, I have instead been having fun of a quite different kind. I returned from my five months in Asia in late June to spend ten days in London before setting off on the ferry to Bilbao en route for the Nowhere. Is a huge flaming ...

Jackie's mid life crisis gap year. A jaunt around world heritage sites, with some Lego. Newer posts →. May 27, 2013. A four-hour evening train from Jaipur brought me to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal. But on my first day there I decided to see the Fort, mostly because everyone recommends getting to the Taj early and I was feeling lazy, but also because I thought I should work up to the main event. Jackie's mid life crisis gap year. A jaunt around world heritage sites, with some Lego. The Jantar Mantar, Jaipur →. Humayun’s Tomb, Delhi. May 16, 2013. A remarkably cheap “where am I and will I know where to get off” city bus ride south from the centre of Delhi brings you to this site, the sixteenth century tomb of a Mughal emperor called (as you might guess) Humayun. Model showing Humayun’s Tomb in its garden. Humayun’s Tomb – entrance gate. Humayun’s Tomb – garden water channels. Humayun’s Tomb...

Jackie's mid life crisis gap year. A jaunt around world heritage sites, with some Lego. Khajuraho Group of Monuments. Paragliding in Pokarah →. June 13, 2013. I had planned to take the overland route from India to Nepal, but with train tickets so hard to get and the World Heritage Site close to the border (one of two cultural ones in Nepal) sounding quite dull, I decided to fly to Kathmandu instead. Not that this option was without its concerns. In the centre of Kathmandu itself is the Basantapur Durbar ...

http://meanderingshots.blogspot.com/2014/05/guest-post-narens-cross-country-road_30.html
The world as I see it. My travel and photo blog. Friday, May 30, 2014. Guest Post: Naren's Cross Country Road Trip. I've always been a fan of road trips. Well, ever since I learnt how to drive. And in America, road trips are a way of life. A cross-country road trip from coast to coast was always on the cards, and when I had two weeks for the Christmas vacation, I knew it was the best chance to strike it off the bucket list. Dario, the guy from Argentina, the Polish girls and Ever. She told me it gets pre...

The world as I see it. My travel and photo blog. Tuesday, January 29, 2013. Leh Road Trip - Tsomoriri. All the aaloo parathas! The route is scenic as usual. But Tsomoriri beats the rest hands down. Just before the main lake, as our car weaved up and down the hills, we saw this small pristine blue lake peeking between the hills. That one view is probably what I'll remember about Leh for years to come. It was unbelievable! The lake before Tsomoriri. Looks like the Windows XP background! There is just one s...

The world as I see it. My travel and photo blog. Monday, January 28, 2013. Leh Road Trip - Khardung La, Nubra Valley and Panamik. And a good night's rest, the plan was to head off to Nubra Valley on Day 4. Around 150 kms from Leh (5 hours), the route goes through extreme ups and downs. The famous Khardung La pass is on the way. We started the morning with a walk through the Tibetan market and then a quick visit to the Shanti Stupa. Khardung La is supposedly the highest motorable pass (sure felt like it!

The world as I see it. My travel and photo blog. Sunday, April 5, 2015. Chasing Cherry Blossoms in Japan - Tokyo. We took the last train out from Fuji and reached Tokyo late in the night. Was a hop skip away from the station. The hostel itself was located very conveniently and the rooms were very comfy. Super crowded Ueno Park. After happy hours :). What happened next is the harrowing rowing episode. We heard of Chidorigafuchi. I don't really remember the movie Love in Tokyo. But I did manage a Sayon...

Born in the early '60s in Derby (UK), I am a short, ginger haired woman with a partner called Martin, an untidy house in south west London and (at present) five cats. About 45 years ago I looked like this - click on if for something more up to date. I studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Bath. But I've never actually worked as an engineer. On graduation I joined the Science Museum. I never expected to leave, but a terrific job was advertised at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Midlife Crisis Survival and Healing for the LOS. Heal from Your Husband's Midlife Crisis. Forgiveness is for you. August 6, 2010. You ever drive down the road and a rude driver cuts you off, and proceeds to flip you off just for good measure? Do you get mad? I don’t. I learned a long time ago that if I were to get mad, that would raise my blood pressure and affect my health, possibly ruining my day. And the other driver? I love you but I'm not in love with you.
