Theories of Bacon: Sauteed Radishes with Bacon and Vinegar
http://theoriesofbacon.blogspot.com/2015/06/sauteed-radishes-with-bacon-and-vinegar.html
A blog about bacon. Wednesday, June 10, 2015. Sauteed Radishes with Bacon and Vinegar. My boyfriend recently made an incredible chicken dinner out of a recipe from Bon Appetit (May 2015) that was totally amazing. I wanted to recreate the radish portion as an apertif, and hit upon the idea of using bacon to get a little of the meaty flavor. It worked beautifully, and the result is a simple and delicious way to use a bunch (or two) of radishes. 1-2 tbs red wine vinegar. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Art of Pairing Video Games with Booze. Friday, May 25, 2012. Diablo 3 with Russian River Damnation. After many long years of agonizing speculation and anticipation, Diablo 3 finally went live last week. Needless to say, I've been playing as much as possible ever since. While I've already tried out quite a few booze combinations with it, I saved something special for its release that I thought might go particularly well. Posted by Ben Saller. Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Theories of Bacon: November 2012
http://theoriesofbacon.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
A blog about bacon. Wednesday, November 21, 2012. Peruvian-ish lentils with chorizo. I was feeling adventurous the other day and decided to experiment with lentils. I ended up sort of combining two recipes, using this one. As a base and this one. For inspiration. The next night, heating up the leftovers, I had the brilliant idea of getting some chorizo involved, and thus, Peruvian-ish lentils with chorizo were born. The recipe still needs some work (feel free to leave ideas in the comments! As mentioned,...

Theories of Bacon: January 2013
http://theoriesofbacon.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
A blog about bacon. Wednesday, January 2, 2013. My sweet baby is nothing if not an idea man, and this was definitely one of his better ideas: making pozole on New Year's Day. After girding ourselves with a few bloody mary's from Big Star. And stopping for a few last minute groceries from the miraculously open corner store, we put our pork in a pot with half an onion and set it a-cooking. As it simmered, we catnapped and watched The Princess Bride. 1/2-1 pound of pork shoulder. 1 large white onion. Meanwh...

Awhile back I was contacted by a representative of Ron Kanfi, the president of Noble Works, a greeting card company, asking me if I'd be willing to review some of their bacon-themed cards on the blog. I agreed, and she sent over a pack. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what occasion calls for a bacon card. Happy Birthday, friend! Links to this post. Friday, February 15, 2013.

http://theoriesofbacon.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
A blog about bacon. Saturday, May 18, 2013. Bacon lentil side dish. Like clockwork, as my return to Amereeka draws nigh, I begin burning through my pork reserves like an asteroid entering Earth's atmosphere. I've had some luck before uniting lentils and pork. So I figured I'd give it another go. I poked around the internet and found this recipe. And also this one. And sort of combined them. 3 glasses green lentils, bacon, onion, garlic, carrot, celery, fennel, chard, red wine vinegar. At this point, my l...
