Knit Knat Knutz: April 2011

http://knitknatknutz.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

No Gauge" blanket, hat, and socks by Kristin Spurkland, available in from Blankets, Hats, and Booties to Knit and Crochet. Dream in Color Classy. Some Summer Sky; Cool Fire; Tea Party; Happy Forest; Chinatown Apple. Added 1.5 inch log-cabin garter stitch border. The beauty of this "no gauge" pattern is that you can use what ya got! Well, lot's been going on around here! I completed my first 10k race. It was so exhilarating, so empowering, so emotional. It's hard to believe that after 27 years of bein...

Knit Knat Knutz: May 2011

Swallowtail Shawl" by Evelyn A. Clark, available for free here. Malabrigo Lace (100% single-ply merino). I made real, live lace! It's worth it for the texture. I eventually switched up to a 5 on my Knit Picks harmony wood interchangeables, and the difference was PROFOUND. I guess lace of this sort just needs slick, big, and pointy. (hehehehe. I'm so mature.). I'm sending this to my very glamorous aunt-in-law who is currently undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. I really hope she likes it.

Knit Knat Knutz: Chilly Steers and Discount Yarn

http://knitknatknutz.blogspot.com/2010/01/chilly-steers-and-discount-yarn.html

Chilly Steers and Discount Yarn. Easy Wave" by Lynne Barr (you know, that chick who's getting all the buzz for her new reversible knitting book), available in Knitting New Scarves. Fiesta Watermark - 60% mohair/40% wool; single-ply heavy aran (almost bulky). This yarn, while lustrous and beautifully dyed, itches like the devil and felt sweaty and hairy in my hands. Not a wise choice for a scarf, for sure, but darnit,. It was whispering to me demands of structure. Also, way overdue. Jake applied to the fo...

Darren and Jenny: Rainy Day at the Beach

http://darrenandjenny.blogspot.com/2013/05/rainy-day-at-beach.html

Sunday, May 5, 2013. Rainy Day at the Beach. We are so happy to be on vacation! I was watching the local news and weather last night and the weather guy said it will be as bout 10-15 degrees cooler than normal this week. Bummer! It was cold this morning when I woke up at SEVEN. It really is beautiful and we are trying to enjoy the rain.  At least we didn't go rent bicycles today! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Jordan and Mallory Williams. Darren and Jenny: The start of a new year

http://darrenandjenny.blogspot.com/2012/02/start-of-new-year.html

Sunday, February 5, 2012. The start of a new year. Darren and I are buying a house! We are incredibly excited and can't wait to move in. Hopefully we can on March 6th! Today is Super Bowl Sunday and I decided to be artsy-fartsy and make some cupcakes. They aren't the most beautiful but they taste GREAT! I found out that broken field goals work okay for yard lines :). I also decorated my mantle for Valentine's day. Next year, the mantel will be above our FIREPLACE! February 12, 2012 at 2:52 PM.

Darren and Jenny: Easter weekend

http://darrenandjenny.blogspot.com/2013/03/easter-weekend.html

Sunday, March 31, 2013. We went home to visit my family for the weekend and had such a nice time! It rained like crazy this morning right as we were leaving for church and the electricity went out. Unfortunately, it wasn't back on in time for Easter lunch so we ate at.Wendy's! Nothing like a frosty and French fries! My sweet Cooper is getting so big! Isn't he just darling? Darren and Jenny: Ella's Nursery

http://darrenandjenny.blogspot.com/2014/08/ellas-nursery.html

Saturday, August 16, 2014. Down to every tie on the bumper and perfect corner on the changing pad. A co-worker surprised me with the quilt, which she had made out of my fabric choice. I couldn't have gotten all of the tiny details in the right place without my sister-in-law and her sister. So many people put so much love into my precious girl's room. I know she would have loved it as much as I do. August 16, 2014 at 1:29 PM. Blessings to you, Jenny and Darren, see you soon! August 16, 2014 at 6:35 PM.

Sunday, 15 June 2014. Roll for the Soul. It has a ring to it, Rooollll for the Soooooul. But that's later. However, my day started with this yesterday. It was quite warm, I fed my sourdough starter and went to work. Did anyone else love the Ladybird book of "The Magic Porridge Pot". I did, whoops! The oven was pre heated with baking stone in situ fairly early on Saturday and I baked my second ever loaf of decent sourdough (see here sourdough loaf number one. Knitknigel | A guy who knits

A guy who knits. Procrastination or…. Inertia! March 16, 2010. I’m working on a knitting project. I started it for the Ravelympics and cast on during the opening ceremonies of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games. My goal – to write a pattern that I would submit to Knitty once it was written and I had knit the sample. The idea is good, the yarn I’ve chosen I really like – I get gauge! So why have I sat on occasion paralyzed by it? We don’t have ice cream? I’ll go get some! You get the picture. So today, I am...

Yes, it’s warmed up since our snow week (WEEK! That makes sense,. Maybe I’m just bitter. Having to drive this thing in the snow is not fun. January 14, 2012. Tuesday, June 30, 2015. As we bask in the warmth of summer and begin thinking about winter-soon-to-come, we are reminded of our usual urgent calls for hats for needy children, slippers for hospitalized veterans, hats for seamen, etc. When the discussion came up at our meeting, Sandi quietly announced that she’s well on her way to knitting hats for school children. (Search the Ancient History. Posts to read about last winter’s hat-drive: Over 200 hats, 100 of which were made by Sandi! 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm.
