My Adventures in Surrogacy: One Month Later
http://surrodreamcometrue.blogspot.com/2013/10/one-month-later.html
Thursday, October 17, 2013. It's been a month since Baby M arrived and I'm feeling great! Physically, my energy levels are back to normal and I've managed to lose all the extra weight from the pregnancy. Dealing with the emotional turmoil the first few weeks was kind of challenging. Feel like the winner. It has been so rewarding to see and feel all that happiness and know that I was a huge part in creating it! One thing that is. Or over 29 liters for all you metric-loving folks out there) Amazing! I hope...

The R-Word Reporter: August 2012
http://therwordreporter.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Reporting Movies, Television Shows and Public Figures Using the R-Word. You're allowed to be humiliating, degrading and hurtful. I'm allowed to petition you to at least recognize what you say and be aware of the option you have to stop.". Monday, August 13, 2012. Let's Make a Deal Wayne Brady - Stop Making Fun of People with Down Syndrome. This is a cross-post from Cowgirl Up! While the r-word was not used, this was an equally disgusting mockery of individuals who have Down syndrome. Yes, Mr. Brady&#...

Madonna Mama!: Facts on Down Syndrome
http://madonnamama.blogspot.com/2013/02/facts-on-down-syndrome.html
Tuesday, February 19, 2013. Facts on Down Syndrome. Here is some background on Down syndrome:. There are about 400,000 people in the country with Down syndrome. The most common form of Down syndrome is Trisomy 21. People with T21 have 47 chromosomes instead of the usual 46. Prior to or at conception, a pair of the 21st chromosomes (in either the sperm or egg) fails to separate resulting in a third copy of the 21st chromosome. Many get married, are employed and live independent lives. Alright, I admit, th...

Madonna Mama!: A Great Weekend with a Sour Ending...
http://madonnamama.blogspot.com/2013/03/a-great-weekend-with-sour-ending.html
Wednesday, March 13, 2013. A Great Weekend with a Sour Ending. And welcome 60 degree temperatures! We took full advantage of last weekend's weather. On Saturday I took the kids to the park with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. The park was of course packed. It was cute, my mother-in-law made a dash for an open swing and resevered it for Sophia. Carl hung out attached to me in his carrier with his adorable little hat on. Then the ice cream truck showed up. (I know already, right? Alright, I did too.

Madonna Mama!: May 2013

Friday, May 10, 2013. Acceptance, it's a word that's been tossed around a lot lately in my "Down syndrome mommy" groups. I'll cut to the chase, we want acceptance for our extra chromosome cuties, but at the same time we're pissed off we even have to fight for it to begin with. You can bet that had all us mamas fired up. We all concluded a letter to the school explaining why their policy was quite frankly, appalling was the best course of action. I think, they think, they are paying us a complement? Inste...

Madonna Mama!: February 2013
http://madonnamama.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Please Don't Say Sorry. In the hours after finding out about the diagnosis, as I tried to sort out my emotions, two things became clear. One, I didn't want people to pity us. Two, I didn't want people treat my son differently. So the LAST thing I wanted to hear from people is, I'm sorry. Sorry for what? Am I supposed to cry myself to sleep every night over this? I leave you with recent pictures of Carl and I ask you, why on earth would anyone feel sorry for us? Let's start by ...

This blog is all about my sons Casey and Connor- identical twin boys who both have Down Syndrome, their sweet baby sister, Reagan, and the joys and struggles of our life as a family of 5! Tuesday, April 9, 2013. I'm not perfect. And it's ok! Then I felt selfish. And lazy. And like a failure. My goodness! I am really harsh with myself sometimes. And thus this post. I have learned the balancing act to some extent. Why do I do this to myself? Why do any of us? And then it hit me! You may be thinking "Wait!

Tuesday, March 29, 2011. God knows. even when I don't. If there is one thing I have learned in my life it is that God has a plan. He does not clue me in to said plan and I just get to bump along and enjoy the ride. And enjoy it I do. Mostly. The boys are teething right now. Life is sweet when you have. Links to this post.

The 3rd 21st...: Hold tight to the kisses.
http://caseynconnor12409.blogspot.com/2013/05/hold-tight-to-kisses.html
This blog is all about my sons Casey and Connor- identical twin boys who both have Down Syndrome, their sweet baby sister, Reagan, and the joys and struggles of our life as a family of 5! Wednesday, May 15, 2013. Hold tight to the kisses. I wish that toddlers understood what the waving of a white flag meant. If they did they would have noticed me surrendering today to the insanity that three children 3 and under brings. I have a confession- I am sometimes a complete wreck of a mother. I am a fraud. Casey...

A serpendiptious journey of designing the best for home, family, work and life. Posted in Fall Outdoor Decor. The weather has been wonderful (and very un Ohio-like) with bright blue skies and warm fall days. The garden and produce markets are overflowing with gourds and pumpkins and inspiration for me to revisit my fall planters–see blog post here. I’ve been scouring Pinterest for ideas and adding them to my Fall Planter Ideas page. But there was one picture that really stood out to me. My next step was ...
