George and Susan Bates Family. Sunday, November 14, 2010. The last weekend in October, Katie and I had the opportunity to go to State with our girls' cross-country team. The race on Saturday had us all nervous. Some of us were worried it would snow! I really enjoyed going to State because it was fun to see the boys' team acheive their goal of becoming State Champions, and also it felt good to know that all of us on the girls' team did our best and had a good time. I ran state on that course!

We're adjusting back to real life, with a few changes. Adam will have a feeding tube until he is eating well again. George and Susan Bates Family. Friday, October 22, 2010. Today is Adam's second birthday! Oh the joy I feel to have him here to celebrate his birthday! The other evening Kate was playing with him and he was laughing so hard; what a sweet sound! He still has a feeding tube, but he is eating half his caloric needs, and has an appetite back. The doctor and therapists want him to be eating 80% before we take the tube out. Our goal is to have it out by Thanksgiving. We're almost there!
