Sunday, September 2, 2012. Summer is winding down. I wish I had written more about here and I'll try to be better about it going forward. But, here are a few pictures that show some of the fun things we did. Watched and played A LOT of baseball. And built some more (this one is Maya's). Visited with Ya Ya and grandpa (2x! And spent some time with Big Papa, too! I went back to work in July, which was a big shakeup for all of us, but we had a wonderful babysitter who took great care of G and Maya.

At dinner tonight he told us all about the different kinds of poems and said he had already written a poem, a Haiku, for Poem in Your Pocket Day, later this week. I saw an owl that. Saturday, November 17, 2012. His Own Baseball Card. Tia Jen and Uncle James surprised Guillermo and Maya with gifts they made from pictures from the wedding. Guillermo opened up a packet of baseball cards only to find a card of himself in the package. He was thrilled. Another pack was filled with cards just of him. The card was made from a picture of him in his St. Louis Cardinal's uniform and the card is awesome. You can see from his smile how much he liked it! Links to this post. We voted last weekend.

Friday, May 25, 2012. Last night was an amazing night! Guillermo's baseball team got to run out on the field with the Durham Bulls! The amazing wife of one of Guillermo's coaches arranged for the evening. All of the players were teamed up with a player in the position they typically played. Guillermo ran out onto the field with catcher Jose Lobaton and stood behind home plate during the National Anthem. It was quite a sight to see all those little players standing on the field. I don’t think I mentioned it in the last post but we were a big part of helping our neighbor Bruce throw a huge surprise 50th birthday party for his wife, Kim. It was a success and she was completely shocked! We had just returned from a relaxing day at the Harrington Inn Spa to 80 of Kim's closest friends from as far as PA and OH! Miner is my black lab. 'Tug' is one of his favorite things to do. If you ask him "where's your tug? He goes to find his rope toy.unless he goes to find his duck. He's not so good with English. Miner is my black lab. 'Tug' is one of his favorite things to do. If you ask him "where's your tug? He goes to find his rope toy.unless he goes to find his duck. He's not so good with English. It was a long, hot day, but was a lot of fun. The game went pretty quick. We didn't get there until the middle of the 2nd inning. It was a great game and the Cubs beat the Cards 5 to 0. Our life with Ethan and Emma. We have finally hit the lazy days of summer; Ethan slept until 10 AM today! Before the Memorial Day Parade in Downtown Geneva, E and E are both Scouts and marched in the parade. Yesterday I had to wake Emma up in time for the 10 AM 4th of July neighborhood bike parade! Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Maya declared today to be the "best day ever.". I think she might be right. The day included a field trip to the zoo followed by an awards ceremony with cupcakes decorated with frosting in every color of the rainbow. The kids rode to the zoo in charter buses and watched a movie for part of the 90-minute trip. They were thrilled.
