Central Church Community

Thursday, June 17, 2010. Found this written down among my things. Thought I'd share it here, though I don't recall where I got it from. You have leaves to rake. A steering wheel to grip. A neighbor’s hand to shake. Simply put you have things to do. So does God. Babies need hugs. Children need good-night tucks. AIDS orphans need homes. Stressed-out executives need hope. God has work to do. And he uses our hands to do it. Your tongue. He claims it for his message. Your eyes, face, and hands? Too often we g...

Central Church Community: July 2006

http://www.centralchurchcommunity.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html

Monday, July 10, 2006. Riding the waves of the seasons of life. Ever noticed the ups and downs, the increases and decreases, of busyness in life? Many times our relationships with each other in family, with friends, and even in our church community ride the waves of seasonal change. It seems almost impossible to predict when the increases will come and when they'll settle down into an almost lull. When is life busiest for you? When do you find it hard to find time to be with other believers?

Central Church Community: April 2007

http://www.centralchurchcommunity.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 07, 2007. It makes me rethink a lot of how we see God and the 'rough patches' in our lives. He's surely given shaping to everyone and often uses each other to do the shaping - what a beautiful concept! How cool is it that we can actually invite each other into our lives and ask them to help shape us into the image of Christ and to reflect back to us what they see in us. And we can know what it looks like in us when we see the fruit of the Spirit growing in us! Posted by Wade Poe @ 4:36 PM.

Central Church Community: March 2006

http://www.centralchurchcommunity.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 23, 2006. What does that look like? What are some of the major phases or changes that a person goes through as they grow in their relationships with each other? As you reflect on your own experience and on what you've seen in others, what does it look like to grow in your relationships with people; especially your fellow disciples/church members? Yes, there are academic answers to that, but what have you actually seen personally in the people in your life? Posted by Wade Poe @ 12:48 PM.

Central Church Community: Make A Difference Monday

http://www.centralchurchcommunity.blogspot.com/2010/03/make-difference-monday.html

Monday, March 22, 2010. Make A Difference Monday. Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something. Author Unknown. In the mornings as I drive to work, I listen to K-Love on the radio. They started something a couple of weeks ago called Make A Difference Monday. Everyone is to go out and intentionally do something to make a difference in another person's life that day. Posted by Tracy @ 5:19 PM. Why invite someone to Church? No room in the inn. Luke 2:7. Christmas, what is it about?

Central Church Community: December 2005

http://www.centralchurchcommunity.blogspot.com/2005_12_01_archive.html

Tuesday, December 13, 2005. We're trying to have a civilization here! Ever wonder what a small group is like or why someone would be interested in being in one? Ever been the leader of a group of people and it felt like you were herding cats? Ever been one of the cats? Being a part of a church or a small group or a medium-sized group (like a Life Stage Group) can be a great blessing for some people and at the same time it can be a frustrating experience for others. Central Church Leaders: April 2006

http://centralchurchleaders.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html

Friday, April 28, 2006. I don't really want to lead: Part 2. Moses - was kind of 'shoved' or goaded into being a leader of God's people to get them out of Eygpt. Wasn't really his thing until God promised him a lot of help through Aaron, etc. Saul - hid in the luggage whenever he was being called to be the king over God's people. David - was out tending sheep with no apparent awareness that he was even in the running to be considered as a leader of anything when he was called and annointed as king. It se...

A place for members and guests of Central Church to share questions, doubts, convictions and other things about God, Jesus, the Bible, church and more. Tuesday, December 13, 2005. Why did God make mosquitoes? And why didn't He make life easier? What's that stuff in Corinthians about baptizing dead people? We all have'm, don't we? Doubts and concerns too. Sometimes 'lite doubts' and sometimes full-bore, serious doubt. This weblog is just for that. Or Shannon Cooper at. The Danger of Building Projects.

A place for members and guests of Central Church to share questions, doubts, convictions and other things about God, Jesus, the Bible, church and more. Thursday, March 23, 2006. What would that look like? What are some of the major phases or changes that a person goes through as they grow in their journey with God? Just like our bodies change or like a caterpillar undergoes change, we as disciples of Jesus go through different stages in our faith. How many actually grow and what did it look like? If you ...

Central Church Theology(ies?), Etc...: May 2006

A place for members and guests of Central Church to share questions, doubts, convictions and other things about God, Jesus, the Bible, church and more. Monday, May 29, 2006. A faith that heals and doesn't enable? When you think about ideas and beliefs that you see among us as believers, are there some things that we sometimes believe about God or being a 'church goer' that enables us to live in unhealthy and possibly sinful ways? What are some ideas about faith that we teach (possibly inadvertantly?

Saturday, April 07, 2007. In case you missed the last meeting. 1 Vision and Process:. There is overlap and continuity between each stage and within and between our different specialized ministries. It is important to remember that each stage builds on and benefits from the other stages, progressively. Central Church honors God by. Irrevocably committing to one another. Intentionally dedicating ourselves to serving others. 2 Life Stage Groups:. Talk about the smaller, unplanned and/or not-including-the-wh...

Oh no, not you too? I am just all over the place with this some days and am really curious as to what others in my circle or out there in the cybersea think about it. I know that 'among us' in the churches of Christ lives a wide variety of political opinion. So.where do. Which way goes God 'lean'? Do you think God.

Tuesday, December 13, 2005. Our Marriage mentoring program is just getting started. We have 13 pairs of couples who have committed to meeting monthly over the next year to work on building healthy marriages. Too often we are unable to discuss our marriages in a way that is helpful. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Stinkin’ Thinkin’. November 28, 2012. I woke up yesterday with a lot on my mind. A ton of things that needed my attention, things weighing on my heart, and I really wasn’t sure where to begin. I did and He did. 8220;I will meditate on your precepts. I will think on your ways. I will delight in your statutes. So I hav...
