A blog to chronicle our voyage as a family, as we prepare then cast off for our "Young Adventures". Friday, January 31, 2014. Community Of Kindred Spirits. Shambala Sails: July 2015

http://shambalasails.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

The execution of our hare brained scheme. Where are we now. Sunday, July 26, 2015. The natural beauty of this island is something I can hardly describe with words. We took our time here and spent a week hiking to waterfalls, touring up the Indian River, and driving up and down the craziest hills we have ever seen. Our longest hike was to Middleham Falls. It rained on us the whole way there. The hike up was challenging mostly by the complaints from those two same lovely children of ours. After...The Frenc...

The execution of our hare brained scheme. Where are we now. Tuesday, June 10, 2014. Time to Start Work. So I am now officially employed! I am excited and nervous at the same time. This kids are now back with Paul during the day for home school and play time. Boat projects will take more time to complete because there will be more fishing, playing, and beach runs happening during the day. Another $20.00 to Sailrite. Staci, Paul, Samantha, and Nick. The execution of our hare brained scheme. Where are we now. Saturday, June 27, 2015. BVIs to Statia to St. Kitts. We had to make another trip to the dentist and found a great one a short walk from the marina. The filling cost us $100 E.C. here (approximately $37.00 U.S.). Wow! Staci, Paul, Samantha, and Nick. Monday, June 15, 2015. But the library was closed so we walked around the mall and Kmart. We spent the next few days visiting the anchorages of St. John and the National Park. Shambala Sails: August 2014

http://shambalasails.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

The execution of our hare brained scheme. Where are we now. Sunday, August 3, 2014. When we started this journey on Shambala we carried a lot of stuff (junk) on deck. We have pared-down the deck some but now we will hopefully look even more ship shape. Paul is creating deck boxes with a similar strategy that he made the dinghy with. He is taking plywood with stitch and glue with fiberglass overlay making deck boxes for the rest of our stuff. In the meantime our deck is extremely cluttered. We haven&#8217...

Shambala Sails: Montserrat

http://shambalasails.blogspot.com/2015/07/montserrat.html

The execution of our hare brained scheme. Where are we now. Saturday, July 18, 2015. We were able to sail with the wind just a slight bit north of east all the way to Montserrat. It was a long day and we took a lot of water over the bow. I'm very grateful for out dodger and side curtains that keep me dry during our passages. The wind was still good the next day so instead of going ashore we opted for the sailing view of the active volcano on the island from out boat as we sailed south toward Guadaloupe.

Shambala Sails: Culebra and Culebrita

http://shambalasails.blogspot.com/2015/05/culebra-and-culebrita.html

The execution of our hare brained scheme. Where are we now. Sunday, May 31, 2015. On our way to Culebra we stopped near Isla Palaminos and picked up a free mooring for the night. It was the beginning of Memorial Day Weekend so the locals were living it up and playing loud music. It is hard not to dance when you hear the fun beat! Next night we anchored near the small city in Culebra and enjoyed Zacos Tacos. Just when we thought our spending spree was over! Staci, Paul, Samantha, and Nick. We are a family...

The execution of our hare brained scheme. Where are we now. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Staniel Cay to the Jumentos Cays and Ragged Islands. The wind finally picked up and we were able make a big jump all the way to Hog Cay. We had a very nice sail and only had to motor for the last hour of the trip. To our surprise we were hailed on the radio by our friends Alibi II and Lost Marbles. The kids are happy to see friends, even through the friends are adults they still enjoy the attention. The execution of our hare brained scheme. Where are we now. Sunday, December 28, 2014. Picture from the hospital work party. The marina has been especially nice to all the kids this season by opening up the marina for decorating stockings and old mooring balls that were painted green and red. The stocking were hung in the marina and filled with all kinds of treats and toys for the kids by all the boaters and marina staff. Christmas Day we went for out for a motor/sail to anchor out for a couple of. Playi...

Well a month has gone by since our last post and it seems like just last week. But, a lot has happened since then. We have been to the beach a few times while Paul heads out and spear fishes. A night out on the town. (Kissie faces). More beach fun with our boat family friends on Orenda, MadSam,. The kids trying out school on land. They love it! For more money in the kitty. Subscribe...

House on a Hill

Tuesday, January 22, 2013. I hate stuff on my counters. It's really hard to keep them cleaned off and organized. It's too easy to just throw stuff down and let it sit there. I went out to the garage and found a piece of wood that worked perfectly. So here's how you can make your own knife holder for your drawers. First, measure the width of your drawer. Make sure your wood fits in the drawer and looks right. Then prime and paint if you choose. It's that simple and it didn't even take that long to make.
