Dye-No-Mite!: Tracy spoiled me!

http://dye-no-mite.blogspot.com/2007/06/tracy-spoiled-me.html

A swap for people who love hand-dyed and hand-painted things. Monday, June 11, 2007. Tracy sent me an awesome package! It was stuffed full of yarny goodness and Maine lobster-themed goodies! There were EIGHT hand-dyed and hand-spun skeins of yarn, lobster candies devoured by my husband and son (they beat me to them), lobster soap, lobster mug, a hand spindle and roving (yikes! I don't need another addiction :-) ). You are the best. Jana. Give the spindle a whorl! June 11, 2007 at 4:12 PM.

http://dye-no-mite.blogspot.com/2007/05/do-you-think-this-is-good-enough-to.html

A swap for people who love hand-dyed and hand-painted things. Thursday, May 24, 2007. Do you think this is good enough to send? This is my first attempt at handpainted yarn and I'm unsure about it. Would you be happy to receive this in your Dye-No-Mite package or should I keep it for myself and do some more? The yarn looks so yummy! I'd be delighted if that showed up on my doorstep! May 24, 2007 at 9:14 AM. I hope you're my partner! May 25, 2007 at 1:47 AM. I think it's beautiful. Jana.

Dye-No-Mite!: How Do I Tell if Roving has Felted?

http://dye-no-mite.blogspot.com/2007/06/how-do-i-tell-if-roving-has-felted.html

A swap for people who love hand-dyed and hand-painted things. Tuesday, June 5, 2007. How Do I Tell if Roving has Felted? Forgive me, I'm not a spinner and I've dyed some Roving today - I'm pleased with the colours but not sure how I tell if it's felted slightly. Most of the way through the lengths I can see the vertical fibres are vertical but at the ends it's more difficult. It doesn't feel matted and in the washing water it all fluffed out. How would I know if it's fellted then? What kind of wool is it?

From Books,Needles, and Hooks. Suzon Shawl - Finito. I finished my "Suzon Shawl" a couple of weeks ago and am quite satisfied with it. I blogged about it here. I finished the shawl with my favorite edging. Details are here. This is the first shawl I've made for myself. I look forward to wrapping up in it with a good book when cooler arrives, though I'm not in a hurry to do that! Lovin' summer and green, green, green. For a list of charities that may draw your interest. There is a Ravelry Group. The shawl ...

Moving it means I will probably update it more often than I've been for the last year plus. I haven't yet decided if I'm going to move all of my old posts or just leave this up as the old and continue on for the new. For now, I'm just starting over. If I decide to move everything over, I will leave another short announcement. But starting now, please use the new link. Links to this post.

Saturday, April 23, 2016. How to steam block acrylic knits. I have to say it. I'm a sucker for exciting acrylic yarns. You know the ones you see at Walmart or Micheals, that either have a unique texture, or fabulous colours. And you can still buy a whole project's worth for less than $20. But sometimes, the finished knit needs a little extra help. And you can't just wet block it the way you could with a wool knit. You can find the pattern page on Ravelry by clicking here. Check out how I did it! They wer...

I took my personal knitting out of the bag I haven't opened since the end of September. I might even make tea!
