The Upper Woronora Bushfire Brigade, originally formed to protect residences, churches and scout camps situated on the foreshores of the Upper Woronora River, was reformed at a public meeting on the 23rd of April 1967 and renamed Woronora Bushfire Brigade.

Rural fire brigades are a reflection of the local community, and is made up of volunteers from all walks of life - men and women from different backgrounds, age groups and professions. In addition to firefighting, there are a multitude of other rolls within the Rural Fire Service. Our fire station is open most Sunday mornings at 9am and you are welcome to visit to find out more about joining the RFS. And hopefully our brigade.
