Cafe Aylanto – thefoodasaurus & team
https://thefoodasaurus.wordpress.com/2015/06/06/cafe-aylanto
We are now at www.thefoodasaurus.com. Aylanto actually means “tree of heaven”. Now I don’t know much about heaven but if this is the kind of food they’re going to be serving there, I’m getting a jump start on my good deeds. Located in Versova, a romantically-lit restaurant, Cafe Aylanto. The brains behind the menu at The Third House. In Four Bungalows)did not disappoint. All worth trying and all mocktails! To whet our appetite, the chef started with Aphrodite, Kjebapchinja, Batata Harra. Beautiful to loo...

We are now at www.thefoodasaurus.com. I rely on a lot of sources to get good intel on where to unleash my ravenous food desires on. The internet, word of mouth, newspapers, et al. I chanced upon Ben’s cafe from a newspaper clipping a few days ago. I wanted to experience the food for myself so I set out on my next food adventure. Thanks to my friend (who shall not be named.for now) we found ourselves lost trying to find our way to the restaurant. Hard to believe Google led us on a wild goose chase! We wer...

The Infusion House – thefoodasaurus & team
https://thefoodasaurus.wordpress.com/2015/05/23/the-infusion-house
We are now at www.thefoodasaurus.com. Once in a blue moon you come across something that inspires you, makes you happy or makes you feel like you’re at the right place at the right time. For me, this would be good food and good company. While looking at what’s new in the city, I chanced upon The Infusion House. I had the good fortune of meeting him and learning so much about this place, the dishes, what went into their making and the history behind different cuisines. For drinks, we went with a Peach.

Eddie’s Bistro – thefoodasaurus & team
https://thefoodasaurus.wordpress.com/2015/05/10/85
We are now at www.thefoodasaurus.com. My bistro binge led me to yet another hidden gem in Pali Hill, Bandra: Eddie’s Bistro. I’m beginning to think these Parisian basements, were they always this cute and served heavenly food? Refer to previous blog post if you feel lost.). So we started off with drinks they have a wide variety to choose from a round of Fratelli Merlot. Was well balanced and smooth without any harshness and went well with the appetizers we ordered (more on that later). Yes, there was mea...

https://thefoodasaurus.wordpress.com/2015/05/17/hotel-ramashray-matunga
We are now at www.thefoodasaurus.com. Chapter 3: Hotel Ramashray. The post vegetarians all over the world (the ones who know about this blog anyway) were waiting for. TheFoodasaurus goes Vegetarian! Bring out the firecrackers mom! Now, I won’t go into the history of Hotel Ramashray, which I think is already covered in the Indian education syllabus. Let’s move to the how I shortlisted this place. Simple enough, Zomato had a 4.9 (! Here is where my trip to disappointment lane began. The sambhar tasted ...

Pomegranate Khandvi Lasagne | the veggie fix
https://theveggiefix.wordpress.com/2015/04/23/pomegranate-khandvi-lasagne
April 23, 2015. Is probably my favorite Gujarati dish to make and eat. Making perfect paper thin, translucent khandvi is true art, I believe. And I must admit I can’t make it the way my mum does. Nonetheless, I can make it, well enough to satisfy a greedy craving. I decided to turn that typical yellow khandvi batter to something more fun like purple (or pink? And then screw the typical rolling and taking the easy way out — simply stacking sheets of khandvi that would resemble a lasagne. 1/2 cup gram flour.
