Willits Daily Photo: Drinking Fountain
http://willitsdailyphoto.blogspot.com/2009/03/drinking-fountain.html
One Year of Images from this area of Mendocino County, California. Thursday, March 5, 2009. Before this most recent series of storms embraced us with welcomed rain, I explored a greenbelt trail up in Brooktrails. I hadn't realized they had an old parcourse. Children's playground and this softball field along the way. Why am I featuring the drinking fountain? I just read in Wednesday's paper that, here in Little Lake Valley anyway, the water crisis has been averted by the water falling from the sky! My wo...

One Year of Images from this area of Mendocino County, California. Friday, November 14, 2008. Wednesday night's city council. Meeting had the full array of officials in attendance. The mayor sits directly in the center of the dais with three of her fellow council members on her right, and one on her left. Then there are the city manager, city lawyer, city clerk, and city planner. Their regular meetings are the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, except for Thanksgiving week. Are on my Overflow blog.

http://willitsdailyphoto.blogspot.com/2009/03/mimosa-blossoms-for-womens-day.html
One Year of Images from this area of Mendocino County, California. Sunday, March 8, 2009. Mimosa Blossoms for Women's Day. The only mimosa tree (also called acacia). I've noticed in town cascades over the barbecue hut next to the Masonic Lodge on Main Street. They used to have salmon barbecues here as an annual fundraiser. Right now the blossoms are at their peak. March 8th is International Women's Day. Pointed out on her Molfetta blog. That Italians traditionally give women yellow mimosa blossoms. Am co...

http://willitsdailyphoto.blogspot.com/2009/03/miners-lettuce.html
One Year of Images from this area of Mendocino County, California. Saturday, March 7, 2009. Our recent spate of cool rain successfully conjured secret gardens of Miner's Lettuce. I loved learning about miner's lettuce. What an unusual-looking plant and name and history. March 7, 2009 at 1:17 AM. Love that dense vegetation! Have you ever tried the miner's lettuce yourself? And why not do a post on the Odd Fellows? Do they exist outside of northern CA? March 7, 2009 at 8:12 AM. Amy at Woza Books. Saretta -...

One Year of Images from this area of Mendocino County, California. Monday, March 2, 2009. Sorry to hear of the continuing farewells being said to community servants. In such a connected town as Willits, these losses must touch all corners of the community. Wishing you and Willits some bright and hopeful spring days ahead. March 2, 2009 at 1:39 AM. Hi Elaine - This was a nice post and a very solemn tribute to a public servant. My condolences. March 2, 2009 at 4:39 AM. March 2, 2009 at 11:23 PM. Internatio...

Willits Daily Photo: Bunny Dumpster
http://willitsdailyphoto.blogspot.com/2009/02/bunny-dumpster.html
One Year of Images from this area of Mendocino County, California. Wednesday, February 25, 2009. I'm not entirely clear on what all the spray-paint tagging on the one dumpster means, but at least I can read the word "bunny" on the right. Can anyone tell me what it says on the left? I like the shot , may be the other word means nothing except a signature? February 25, 2009 at 12:29 AM. Makes for a good picture! February 25, 2009 at 12:39 AM. Nice reflection in the puddles. Walabie, could it be? February 2...

Willits Daily Photo: Eye Doctor
http://willitsdailyphoto.blogspot.com/2009/03/eye-doctor.html
One Year of Images from this area of Mendocino County, California. Monday, March 9, 2009. This is another residential type building converted to a medical office. I like the symmetry, appropriately enough, for an eye doctor's establishment. I also like the shadows cast by the bare branches of a sycamore, as the winter sun lowers in the west. Elsewhere, ornamental plum and pear trees are just beginning to open their blooms. Soon, it will be spring again. March 9, 2009 at 7:46 AM. March 9, 2009 at 10:08 AM.
