Thoughts from the Road. I’m on the rooftop of the Seng Hout hotel watching the sunset over Battambang. The Muslim call to prayer is echoing across the river and the ornate roofs of Buddhist temples are glinting in the orange light. I decided to stay another day here and am glad I did. There’s a restaurant I really like: Jaan Bai. We are heading to Quartzsite and stopped in Utah to visit some friends we met in Quartzsite we had an awesome time with them and will stop there again soon. August 13, 2015. Los Angeles - SIGGRAPH 2015. This week, I'm in sunny Los Angeles, California. The weather here is so much nicer than back in Austin. As it actually cools in the evening when the sun goes down. I'm here at another industry conference. This one is called SIGGRAPH. Short for Special Interest Group on GRAPHics and Interactive Techniques. I'm staying in downtown LA, at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel. I haven't stayed here for about 15 years - back when I worked for Sega. In the Line of Fire.
