The Wayward Winos

Thursday, February 25, 2010. New Look and a New Place. Wayward Winos is just over a year old now and we decided to get ourselves a bit of a birthday present – ladies and gentlemen, let us introduce the shiny new Wayward Winos page with it’s very own dot com! We’d like to thank everyone for their support over the last year. We have come along way from four months roaming around South America. To three months discovering Delmarva. The Wayward Winos: April 2009

http://waywardwinos.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, April 30, 2009. El Calafaté and the Perito Moreno Glacier. The sun rose late and set early, so it was difficult to judge time. On the second day, we were up before the daybreak preparing to visit the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of three main attractions in the immediate region. Being so far south, the air was crisp and perfectly cold; it found the holes in our sweaters. This is a photo montage. Links to this post. Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Bariloche: more than a hike. As you've probably noticed...

The Wayward Winos: May 2009

http://waywardwinos.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 31, 2009. A busy BUS-Y couple days. The Wayward Winos have been on the move since last Thursday, after leaving Montevideo, Uruguay. From the capital, we went to Salto, Uruguay, then to Concordia, Argentina and then northeast to Posadas, Argentina, where we were inconviently stuck for a day and change- then off to Puerto Iguazu, Argentina, where we experienced the absolutely stunning Iguazu Falls. Links to this post. Wednesday, May 27, 2009. La Fonda del Pesca. Calle 30 between Calle 22 and 24).

The Wayward Winos: March 2009

http://waywardwinos.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Monday, March 30, 2009. A Walk Through the Andes: Part 2. The idea of air drying clothes strongly relies on the notion of a dry, sunny day. This is especially true if your time is limited. Our time was limited. We ate our breakfast of eggs and mate de coca and mumbled to ourselves and one another of how our feet were sore, if not wet, and how soggy clothes pulled down on our backpacks. After we finished, we begrudgingly scuttled back into our backpack straps and tried to let the caffeine and coca tak...

The Wayward Winos: January 2009

http://waywardwinos.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html

Thursday, January 29, 2009. A Memorable "Bon Voyage" - Top 6 requirements. Make it a surprise. Make it so covert that even your accomplices are surprised. To make this happen, pack the party animals in your bedroom (or a room farthest from the entrance) and offer a tour to one of those you came with. The guest of honor will inevitably be thrown for a loop if he/she had been suspect with the three weeks notice for dinner plans. Since when do friends plan? Es leis' and a skipper hat. It can be during the b...

The Wayward Winos: June 2009

http://waywardwinos.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 25, 2009. So long and thanks for all the fish. This is a long overdue post as a temporary hold on our adventures in South America. I say temporary, because the Wayward Winos are, even now, planning our triumphant return. So stay tuned for our re-emergence and our announcement of plans. We would like to thank everyone who has been following us during our adventures down there. It was a blast exploring South America and we met a ton of great people all of whom we plan on finding in their...

Saturday, May 2, 2009. It's funny that we just said the maté is a personal, slow-taking event. And here in the National Glacier Park we discovered the public, to-go maté machine. Ironic. Sunday, April 26, 2009. This street dog, callejero. Is the wildest beast we've encountered on our South American camping/hiking adventures. He, along with two of his buddies, escorted us through the Parque Nacional Hupai for our easy day hike. Photo by: Melanie McLean. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The ideal holiday is spent however you like. It might mean staying home alone or with your pets, cooking for a crowd or getting outside. Sometimes it takes self control, creativity and independence. If you do have a partner, your options might be limited. Here are some ideas for creating a better time:. Plan for next year now, while a...
