Optonica SM-4545 Repair And Restoration - Integrated Amplifier

This Optonica SM-4545 integrated amplifier is in pretty good cosmetic shape but is in need of some repairs and restoration. The top cover of the Optonica SM-4545 is now removed. This integrated amplifier has a nice internal layout. All of the individual boards use plug in connectors which make restoring or servicing much easier. Have the cover that hides the equalizer(phono) assembly now removed on this Optonica integrated amplifier. The pins had no corrosion but I used a little deoxit on a Q-tip anyways.

Thick aluminum up to 3/16 of an inch thick as well as solid copper and heavy copper plate throughout the chassis for electromagnetic shielding. The workmanship and the attention to detail of this Nakamichi 1000P would rival most of the high end stereo equipment of today but it should. This Nakamichi BX-150 cassette deck is pretty beat up and in need of some repair and restoration. This Nakamichi BX-150 cassette deck needs a good cleaning as it was in a Florida shed for several years. Like many of the Nakamichi BX-150 cassette decks the idler tire needed replacing. Fast forward/Rewind now works fine. This Nakamichi BX-150 repair and restoration is complete. Cleaned up nice and record/play functions well. Now it's time to play some music.

Pioneer CT-540 Repair And Restoration. This Pioneer CT-540 is in fairly good cosmetic condition but has some issues with the transport. Top cover is off to take a look. As the 1980's came the cassette decks because a little more spare inside because of component density. The first thing to look at with a vintage cassette deck is the tape path. As you can see in the picture below some cleaning is needed. Lots of Q-tips along with rubber and head cleaner with get the tape path cleaned up.
