Jamiecash: Rural bliss
http://jamiecash.blogspot.com/2010/06/rural-bliss.html
Monday, June 07, 2010. Reading: The City and The City by China Mieville. Read a lot about it and Will had started it. It's great so far; atmospheric, dark and based around an intriguing central premise. Other birthday books: Cities of the Red Night - Burroughs. Was put off him by Naked Lunch's dreadful prologue about junk addiction. This is the book that might convert me. Sniper One - Sgt. Dan Mills. Ahem. Thanks Chris. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Jamiecash: March 2007

Wednesday, March 28, 2007. On Richard Madely, in open-necked seductor garb.). Actually I quite like Madely in this mood, it's as if he's just poured himself a scotch and sauntered into your hotel room.'. No, Luke, not coke. I've never heard of Christopher Coake because the Guardian hasn't written about him as yet, and neither has Will mentioned him to me. That probably makes this the first truly original post on here about writers? Here's a couple of highlights:. Full of Wittgenstein fans and yell "Fire!

Jamiecash: China Mieville, William S Burroughs and one exciting package

Tuesday, June 29, 2010. China Mieville, William S Burroughs and one exciting package. Sometimes you don't feel arrogant enough to blog, or life isn't interesting in a way you want to tell the world about. It's all about books anyway, and I have some more to talk about now. And, finally, my signed first edition of the new Bret Easton Ellis arrived from the US, badly photographed above. I'm having to restrain myself from moving straight onto it, but it's testament to the Burroughs that I haven't.

Jamiecash: July 2008
http://jamiecash.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 04, 2008. Music for the people, not by the people. We live in a time often heralded as the golden age of creative democracy. Due to that most profoundly affecting of inventions, the internet, people can now not only express themselves, they can expose themselves too. Nowhere is this truer than in music. More recently, the visceral brilliance of grime quickly sunk under the weight of flabby, 15-strong crews, massed around and envious of their single talented member, eager to claw the micropho...

Jamiecash: August 2009
http://jamiecash.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Friday, August 14, 2009. The endings I love in other books, incidentally, are:. Glamorama: he’s punished by being replaced with a 'better' version of himself. Lunar park: the life he tried for collapses and he returns to form, numbs himself, and reveals that this incredible literary experiment and gripping ghost story have, all along, been a redemptive book about his dad. Sabbaths theatre: again he ends up where he started, amongst all the things he hates.

Jamiecash: April 2010
http://jamiecash.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 30, 2010. Thursday, April 29, 2010. I don't like Mark Selby. He's very good in the reliable, robotic way that Hendry or John Higgins are, but he thinks his youth and hairdo make him the new Ronnie O'Sullivan. He has none of the flair or attitude, and as such he's nothing like as thrilling to watch. Of course, it could just be sour grapes on my part. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. This is just amazing. I can promise though, here and now, that I will always, always ALWAYS hate Banksy. Anyway, I'm...
