Sweet climbing to hidden mega-engineering projects in the wild Tararua range. 44km; 1130m ascent. Easy except for climbs. Sweet climbing through forest on the lower part of the track. Summit of the first climb over the shoulder of Te Paki, looking back over coastal Manawatu. No3 reservoir from the climb eastward over the saddle to the distant No1 and No2 reservoirs. Zealandia is in a deep gully in the hills above Wellington, and the area has lots of trails through native forest, some of which connect to service roads and farm tracks leading to the south coast. It's much, much faster than any bike I've previously owned. Here's my attempt to describe our adventures the last four months, as together we explored the laws of physics. But first, the obvious.
