Is somewhat of a retro-clone (in this case, it simulates the TSR game Gamma World. As it boasts on the cover, Mutant Future. Easily showing the versatility of the game system, Mutant Future.

Auracrux Rebirth: July 2010
http://axrebirth.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 14, 2010. In the beginning, Aura floated alone in the Elemental Chaos. His nature was cold, solitary intellect. As he wandered for countless millenniums, he dreamed of order. He collected pieces of matter from the Chaos, and began to form a world out of them. He searched deep into the Chaos for the pieces needed to build the world. It is truly unknowable. The Abyss still exists behind a mighty locked door in the depths of the Elemental Chaos, and its denizens can be summoned and bound to ...

Tuesday, June 22, 2010. Notable Persons: Clan Vestkalindar. Erion Vestkalindar, patriarch of his clan, speaking to a group of young mages at the Vailan Academy of Magic. Young ladies must be certain to shut up their windows at night. My mother always told me that Yarika's stubby Troll fingers are too clumsy to undo the latches and get in, so he only visits maidens with open windows.". Half-Elven old wives' tale. Geek Grab Bag: September 2013

Saturday, September 14, 2013. Some Useful Resources for Ships in D&D. Just wanted to share two resources that I've found very helpful while thinking about sailing in Greyhawk:. Designing a Ship for a Fantasy Novel. I tend to favor the 14th century and earlier when looking for inspiration for D&D, but I made an exception when looking at ships. My primary reason is that 15th century ships make better adventure locales than their smaller predecessors. Sunday, September 8, 2013. Thursday, September 5, 2013.

Geek Grab Bag: June 2010
http://geekgrabbag.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 30, 2010. When speaking with DM Jon, whose game I'm still loving, we talked about his frustration that his game isn't turning out as he envisioned it. Jon is trying to create a narrative game involving character development and engagement with the setting. However, the game has been a fairly brutal dungeon crawl so far. Personally, I don't mind such games, as long as it's a known quantity going on. 1 Each encounter advances the narrative. I would love to do something like this for my next...

Sunday, September 1, 2013. Raised from the Dead: How I Got Started (30 Days of D&D). I think I'm going to get back into doing this blog as I recently started running AD&D again and would like a place to post my reflections. There's a thing going around called 30 Days of D&D. Raised From the Dead. Attribution: New Line Cinema via TheOneRing. Growing up, I got into the Super Nintendo generation of role playing games, starting when my cousin, Laura, loaned me Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest. Weird that my girl.

Whitehall ParaIndustries: Converting Only War
http://whitehall-paraindustries.blogspot.com/2014/06/converting-only-war.html
A blog about RPG Theory and Design. Monday, June 23, 2014. As I've noted before ( here. We found FFG's Only War to be an very safe and easy game. It's also a very broken one mechanically making the common design error of stacking bonuses resulting in PCs shrugging off anything short of anti-vehicle weapons . So my group is something of an oddity. They get bored real quick with that sort of game. Compared to the previous cake walks, this was far more satisfying. Has very decisive and bloody combats with a...

Whitehall ParaIndustries: For Most, System Doesn't Matter
http://whitehall-paraindustries.blogspot.com/2014/07/for-most-system-doesnt-matter.html
A blog about RPG Theory and Design. Wednesday, July 16, 2014. For Most, System Doesn't Matter. This should be filed under the heading 'Duh', but sometimes such things are worth highlighting for a moment or two. It didn't take long to figure out the answer if the people involved ever described one of their sessions in any significant detail or if you happen to be watching. They flatly just didn't use the rules. And when you're not using them, of course they don't matter. D&D AC, to hit rolls and HP points?

Whitehall ParaIndustries: Gaming Superheroes: Age of Ultron, and What Not to Do.
http://whitehall-paraindustries.blogspot.com/2015/05/gaming-superheroes-age-of-ultron-and.html
A blog about RPG Theory and Design. Monday, May 4, 2015. Gaming Superheroes: Age of Ultron, and What Not to Do. I often play marvel inspired Superhero games. And Marvel Studios has been producing quality work for a while now (except for Agents of SHIELD which has been rather mixed IMO). So naturally off I went to see what ideas I could mine from their latest release. Well, tons of money were made. The player for Betty Ross is wondering how Black Widow pulled a pod person switch on her. Everyone is please...
