VE3RTR supports connection to a number of Nets. We are NET friendly so to speak. The connections are automatic. Nets are supported on any FM repeater or DSTAR module. If you would like to see VE3RTR Assets participate in a net, please inquire with our technical team - we will research connection options and advise if it can be integrated in our schedule. Asterisk is the core tool used by the AllStar linking system. It supports one to many connections. Users can access via another repeater, telephone access and PC based clients. 1 Tune to RTR 145.150 (-) with a tone of 162.2. 2 Touch-tone in the *3 4/5 digit code for the desired node. Wait for the sign-on. Leave a 1 second pause between transmissions. 3 Key in *10 or*1 nodenumber to drop the link. Remember, *10, will drop the last connected node if you have several nodes connected. 80 Force System ID.

Posted by Randy on Facebook. Today (10 Oct 2015) we retired DSTAR at VE3RTR. In its place we have an FM repeater VE3RTR - 2. 146895 -600 tone 162.2. We were early on the scene with DSTAR, commissioning this repeater pair at RTR back in April of 2006. But DSTAR hasn't had more than a handful of local users, and with an influx of low cost FM radios, we'll be using FM for many more years. Friday, March 19, 2010. ARRL SSB DX Contest. Worked the ARRL DX SSB contest on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, March 5th and 6th 2010. Propagation conditions were not as good as the CW contest 2 weeks earlier. Forty meters was short skip, with lots of Americans but not much DX. Twenty metres was a mad house for the entire contest period, with no problem finding DX stations to contact. Fifteen meters was quiet, but there were a few stations available. Ten meters was dead.
