The Eddie Cap Tutorial. Laquo; I’m Three. Posted June 15, 2010 by Irene in My Home. I moved and I love it! I say that alot about alot of things, but I really, really do *love* my new sewing space. I waited and waited and waited. I blame myself as well. I didn’t put too much effort in moving. My old sewing space was my dining room. You saw my giant mess the minute you walked through my front door. And for a person as messy as I am, that’s so not good. I got rid of a lot. And now my home is at peace. Http:...

http://rikrax.blogspot.com/2013/03/one-little-two-little-three-little-burp.html
Tuesday, March 12, 2013. One little, two little, three little burp cloths. Sung to the tune of the children's song: "One little; two little; three little Indians.". One little, two little, three little burp cloths:. Four little, five little, six little burp cloths:. Seven little, eight little, nine little burp cloths! Ten little burp cloths for bay- bee! Then I decorated the edges using the scraps I had purchased. I concealed the edges of the fabric appliqué using ribbon, much like Carla did. I wante...

rikrax: January 2013
http://rikrax.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Around Thanksgiving, I got the urge to make Christmas Cards. I wanted to make a few, to satisfy the urge, knowing that I couldn't possibly get enough done for my entire list (I am so blessed that I have a list so long! So I bought some supplies, glued and cut and trimmed and stamped and embossed. I made about 20 cards, I think. Here is the one picture of my handiwork:. The ones with the snowflakes were a lot of fun to do. These are quilled - paper filigree. It has been a great a...

Just South of Sanity. Always well-intentioned, not always sane. In Praise of Mediocrity. February 7, 2013. So at the end of last year, I made my resolutions for 2013. And they are fairly different from what you tend to read about in magazines, I can sum it up like this- I resolve to be nothing more than average, and to love it. To pick up take-out more often and accept that I don’t have to home cook every single meal. To ENJOY lounging around when I’m exhausted or in pain. 5 responses ». Elizabeth, this ...

rikrax: May 2012
http://rikrax.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 17, 2012. Here's something else I'm stitching:. This is the 4th in a fingertip towel set Mom had started. Each one is a design for the seasons, and Mom had finished Summer, Fall and Winter. Spring wasn't even started! I found the set among her crafting supplies when I was working on the house last month, and I'm terribly sentimental about craft projects. I don't know why, exactly - they seem so personal to me, I guess, and people intend to finish them. Monday, May 14, 2012. My conscience is...

rikrax: The Excitement of a New Project
http://rikrax.blogspot.com/2013/07/the-excitement-of-new-project.html
Sunday, July 7, 2013. The Excitement of a New Project. Since I have almost finished the baby quilt, it is time for a new project. Here's what I chose:. Two years ago, I bought this pattern at a yard sale - an enthusiastic quilter had passed away and the family was liquidating her stash. My, she had a quilt shop worth of fabric, precuts, patterns, and sewing machines! I like simple but effective designs, and this appealed to me. I don't know if I'll undo those blocks, toss them, of just leave them. It...

rikrax: String Piecing
http://rikrax.blogspot.com/2013/03/string-piecing.html
Monday, March 18, 2013. I have a bunch of strips and scraps left over. The natural fit is.string pieced blocks! Looks like baby will get a quilt, also. Or, at least, that's my good intention. Simple diagonal foundation pieced blocks, nine inches square. I want the finished block to be 8 inches square, so I have a little wiggle room to square the blocks up. I'm throwing in some strips of solids from the fat quarter pack I purchased at JoAnn. I'm not sure how many blocks I'll get from the scraps. The n...

Monday, July 23, 2012. The photography bug has bit me this summer (along with several hundred mosquitos). Here are a few pictures I'm quite proud of:. Goldfinches at the Feeder. There's a lot to learn with photography. While I understand the concepts of aperture and shutter speed, I'm still refining my working knowledge how to use them to get the effects I want. I enjoy doing pictures of nature and quilts. Pictures of people tend to draw you in more and tell a story. Monday, July 2, 2012. The Kansas City...
