Thoughts for Review: Networking: Strong Ties or Weak Ties?
http://thoughtsforreview.blogspot.com/2009/10/networking-strong-ties-or-weak-ties.html
Friday, October 30, 2009. Networking: Strong Ties or Weak Ties? In MDIA 304, the junior seminar, a speaker from career services urged the class to join LinkedIn. It wasn't just like she was making a suggestion, she felt that it was really essential. What I immediately thought when she said this was, isn't LinkedIn on the back burner of SNS? Friday, November 20, 2009. YouTube: A Danger or Help Hand? As we read in the Lizza. Article, there seems to be some debate over how useful YouTube is in the election. In his article, people make the argument that it has lead to constant camera ready politicians, which has been damaging. As well as those that feel it is a tool to be used in the future. Study had told us this week, television is still the primary way people get campaign news. November 22, 2009 at 7:51 AM. December 8, 2009 at 12:30 PM.

Thoughts for Review: September 2009
http://thoughtsforreview.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 25, 2009. SNS have been expanding quickly. Today it seems they are no longer an online network of your personal acquaintances. SNS are being used by individuals as a platform to do their "dirty work.". As SNS grow, this is likely going to become more of an issue. It will be just as talked about as personal privacy. It is going to become accessing your social network with some clearly associated risk of online attack, not just a possible violation of online privacy. Virtual reality and t...

Thoughts for Review: No Revolution Here...
http://thoughtsforreview.blogspot.com/2009/12/no-revolution-here.html
Friday, December 4, 2009. After reading about the Molodova. Twitter "revolutions" this week, we all discussed the optimistic and the pessimistic perspectives on the revolutions. It doesn't seem like much of a revolution. It just seems like the national news in America used the tweets to say "look these people want democracy because that's what they express on their SNS, isn't that great! I don't think people like Neda would have wanted that to be the message. December 7, 2009 at 2:48 PM.

Thoughts for Review: How much do you enjoy being managed?
http://thoughtsforreview.blogspot.com/2009/11/how-much-do-you-enjoy-being-managed.html
Friday, November 6, 2009. How much do you enjoy being managed? This week we touched upon the differing arguments of how much management should be involved in your SNS. Donath. Would argue everything should be extremely managed, while Rosen. Would argue that it's not real (or humane) to micromanage your personal ties online. December 8, 2009 at 12:36 PM. Thoughts for Review: Censorship: International Activists Urge Obama to Legislate
http://thoughtsforreview.blogspot.com/2009/10/censorship-some-greedy-practices-by.html
Friday, October 23, 2009. Censorship: International Activists Urge Obama to Legislate. This week we discussed the legal side of the internet and what happens when government gets involved. Compared to countries like China and North Korea, American internet is nowhere near as censored. Having SNS blocked in public libraries does not compare to blocking Google searches from returning results on "Falun Gong.". Thoughts for Review: December 2009
http://thoughtsforreview.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 11, 2009. When we discussed Zittrain this week, all I could think of was PC versus Mac situation that is going on today. Not only with regard to the commercials by Apple and Microsoft, but it seems to be an attitude expressed by many people: their loyalty is either with Macs or PCs and they seem to have very negative things to say about the other. Image of Mac ad from www.ocmodshop.com. Friday, December 4, 2009. After reading about the Molodova. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Blog for New M...
