Time to get my act together…again! | Triathlete In Training

http://triathleteintraining.co.uk/2015/04/21/time-to-get-my-act-together-again

From non-runner to triathlete one step/stroke at a time. Time to get my act together…again! April 21, 2015. My biggest challenge this year is about 20 weeks away. I’ve signed up for the New Forest Marathon (I’ve now seen the elevation profile and am having 2nd thoughts! I had planned to run the Bournemouth marathon but I’ll be away in the USA over that weekend so have deferred my place. My plan is to complete Sunday’s Half and then stay focusing in on the Marathon training. Monday: run (LRR training).

From non-runner to triathlete one step/stroke at a time. Coach in Running Fitness Assessment Day. September 24, 2016. September 25, 2016. Today was the assessment day for the Coach in Running Fitness course that I started way back in March. With 3 days of training and 6 months of sessions. I arrived early but fortunately wasn’t the only one as two of the course tutors, Ana and Simon had also just arrived. It was good to chat with them and that helped settle my nerves which had started to build. The day w...

From non-runner to triathlete one step/stroke at a time. March 22, 2015. March 23, 2015. My first proper race way back in 2010 was the Eastleigh 10K. As a local race, this event is right on my doorstep which makes it an attractive option. I’ve run it every year since 2010 and this year, although it fell on my 46th Birthday, that wasn’t going to stop me. With breakfast consumed, it was time to head out to Fleming Park. The journey took 7 minutes which meant I was rather early. Once I had my (very good qua...

From non-runner to triathlete one step/stroke at a time. Solo Run Leading… arghhh! March 31, 2015. March 31, 2015. Fortunately, I was asked by Dave what sessions I’d be happy to lead when we discussed the session plan for April and May. There were a few sessions we had done before that I was happy to plagiarise. One of these was a fartlek session that Stuart has led in early February. After registration was complete, Ben did his speeches and it was time for me to step up. Gulp! I started off by welcoming...

A fine WordPress.com site. September 12, 2012. Welcome to Triathlete Heart Beat (THB). Triathlete: Ian Nelson

My thoughts on training and racing while still trying to balance the hectic life of a college student. Monday, June 14, 2010. Boise Ironman 70.3. As I reached mile 45, I was really starting to hurt. My legs were feeling fatigued, but nothing that I didn't feel that I couldn't push through. What really hurt was my lower back. The pain was intense, but I knew I was approaching the end of the bike and I told myself that it would be better once I was off the bike and standing upright for the run.

From non-runner to triathlete one step/stroke at a time. My fitbit made me do it. June 9, 2015. June 9, 2015. I’ve been the proud owner of several Garmin devices in the past and currently wear a 920XT all the time. It’s a great device that monitors my activity and sleep as well as running, cycling and swimming. In the past, I’ve worn the the Garmin vivoactive activity wristband but sold it when I got the 920XT as the latter tracked steps and sleep. I’m training for a marathon and am a couple of wee...
