http://fantabulousnoise.blogspot.com/2012/06/robot-ears.html
Friday, 15 June 2012. I thought I would reblog this because if I have the time I will definitely give it a go. Robotic listening ought to be really cool. Last Fm: 'Do You Have Robot Ears? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Details my experiences with various cultural products, durables, events and ideas. Expect music, vinyl records, novels, comic books and minutae. The format is largely an attempt at combining various forms of critique and commentary with diarism. Is our taste in music compatible?

FantabulousNoise: CD Report and Mono vs. Stereo
http://fantabulousnoise.blogspot.com/2012/06/cd-report-and-mono-vs-stereo.html
Thursday, 14 June 2012. CD Report and Mono vs. Stereo. I just wanted to recount some thoughts on CDs and some (rare) issues that have cropped up recently. Remarks on Sugar's recent Copper Blue. Reissue and The Sonics on the 2003 Psycho-Sonic. Compilation after the jump. Apologies in advance for any moaning. Another tiny item of news is that I've decided to start compiling a discography. The intial entries are going to be largely Psychedelic and Garage rock, I hope to branch out after that. Review: Bob Mo...

FantabulousNoise: August 2012
http://fantabulousnoise.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Monday, 27 August 2012. Thoughts on Raucous Rock’n’Roll. For a long time I haven’t really been thinking of Rock’n’Roll too much. It’s true that here and there were flickers all along the other stuff. To tell the truth, a lot of my focus has been on the music of Devo. Devo rock, sure, but theyre not really rock. To me theyre above the fray of genre. I’ve decided that I really like the lyrics of their 2010 album, Something for Everybody. Devo are currently zeitgeist because of their anti-Romney song:.

FantabulousNoise: Editorial Policy
http://fantabulousnoise.blogspot.com/p/editorial-policy.html
All written work is the property of its author, they can post it elsewhere and I will endeavour to agree on all changes. While some of my own work at times has an 'in beta' feel, I will try my hardest as an editor to ensure that whatever is posted by another contributor has a good sense of finality to it. I remain committed to managing all content on the blog which includes labelling, updating my own pieces and augmenting all pieces with multimedia content. There you have it, nothing too draconian.

FantabulousNoise: Mono Albums Discography

Note: all mono vinyl I include refers to versions cut after 1968 which use a stereo cutting head and consequently should not be played back using the larger "mono sized" stylus. The 13th Floor Elevators - Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators (Vinyl). The Sonics - Here are the Sonics! Vinyl- based on 7" experience). The Sonics - Boom! Vinyl- based on 7" experience). The Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground and Nico (CD, maybe Vinyl one day- it's a low priority purchase though).

FantabulousNoise: Submissions
http://fantabulousnoise.blogspot.com/p/submissions.html
Now that I do not currently write reviews for anyone else, there's no sense of a pipeline. Much of my writing of late has been quite fanboy-like. I've always retained an unapologetic emphasis on diarism but increasingly I find that without a system of submissions I'll only write about things I feel really passionately about. And I might go on a bit. With that in mind, email me at fantabulousnoise@gmail.com. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Is our taste in music compatible? Tom Petty and the Heart Breakers.

http://fantabulousnoise.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 31 January 2012. Veronica Falls live at the Norwich Art Centre, 27th of January. On Friday the 27th I had the pleasure of seeing Veronica Falls. Thursday, 26 January 2012. Well I finished those comic collections and I thoroughly enjoyed them. Each had its own set of merits. First, Judge Dredd. Tuesday, 24 January 2012. Today I was out and about in Norwich. I did not manage to make it to the Little Red Roaster before they closed, unfortunately. I had a pretty good time in the city, though. At tim...

FantabulousNoise: Sterling Sound: Preliminary Thoughts
http://fantabulousnoise.blogspot.com/2012/07/sterling-sound-preliminary-thoughts.html
Thursday, 12 July 2012. Sterling Sound: Preliminary Thoughts. This is the first in a series on mastering in general and Sterling Sound Mastering in New York in particular. In the second part I will talk specifically about Sterling and what prompted me to choose them to write about. In circumstances like this, quibbling about the amount of compression used in the mastering process misses the point. It is appropriate here, when considering the programme material. What is a better example? Pointed out that ...
