**把我的脚印留在世界各地**: Changi Village Hotel

http://wodejiaoying.blogspot.com/2009/10/changi-village-hotel.html

Friday, 16 October 2009. This year, I celebrated my 1/4 of a century birthday with YQ at Changi Village Hotel. We booked the Weekend Escapade package at $199 which includes a 2nd nite free for room only. Although the hotel research was done by me, the rest of activities were plan by YQ. I like the colourful balcony. Lift access to the rooms. Long corridor to our room. Interior of the room. I asked YQ to buy the bath soap as I wanted to try. The bath soap disolved easily in the bathtub so nothing spec...

http://wodejiaoying.blogspot.com/2009/06/kite-flying-marina-barrage.html

Saturday, 13 June 2009. Kite Flying @ Marina Barrage. We found one more new activity for weekend - Kite Flying. I was browsing the internet to search for new activity in Singapore and kite flying was one of them. I had not fly kite for a long long time. We bought this kite for $2 at. As this stationery shop has lots of outlet throughout the island but we saw Tai Hin Toys Co first so that's why we bought the kite here. Kites flying in the sky. I'm flying one myself. Our kite flying high in the sky. Twenty...

Saturday, 3 January 2015. I have a 20% millennium hotel discount voucher which is expiring soon so we make use of the first weekend of 2015 and had a staycation at M Hotel. I have booked the deluxe room for $195 a night which includes breakfast. Upon entering the lobby, we were greeted by a sculpture of M bull, which symbolizes. Growth in the financial market and an embodiment of strength and power. Other than the usual hotel benefits, the club room offer perks such as complimentary laundry or pressing s...

**把我的脚印留在世界各地**: MacRitchie Reservoir

http://wodejiaoying.blogspot.com/2008/10/macritchie-reservoir.html

Saturday, 11 October 2008. Finally we are going to MacRitchie Reservoir because YQ do not want to wake up so early. We reached there at around 9.15am and there were already quite a lot of people exercising there. MacRitchie Reservoir is Singapore's oldest reservoir. The main attraction that I wanted to visit is the HSBC TreeTop Walk, a 250m aerial free standing suspension bride. Spanning Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang which are the two highest points in MacRitchie. And the surrounding lush rainforest.

**把我的脚印留在世界各地**: National museum

http://wodejiaoying.blogspot.com/2008/07/national-museum.html

Saturday, 19 July 2008. National museum @ nite. Once we stepped in the museum, we saw many people taking photo at the Rotunda. When I raised my head, this 8.5m tall David was standing right in front of me. YQ joke that this is indeed ART. Surrounding David by Titarubi. I only manage to touch his nose. From my personal view, Singapore night scenery still cant be compared to the beautiful Hong Kong skyline. At the top of the museum. Finally got chance to take photo with this stair. In the water of the sky.

Monday, 26 December 2011. We didnt went for any staycation this year and Conrad Centennial is the only Singapore hotel which we stayed in 2011. This was a complimentary stay which was part of our wedding banquet package from Peony Jade. We have a choice of either Conrad or Swissotel Merchant Court. We chose Conrad since we have stayed in Swissotel Mechant Court before. Hubby was drunk on our wedding day hence I called Conrad and changed the check in date to Boxing day. I like the spiral chandelier. I kne...

http://wodejiaoying.blogspot.com/2009/07/2009-night-festival.html

Saturday, 11 July 2009. The 2nd year of the Night Festival was held over the weekend on 10-11 July 2009. On our way to Orchard, it was pouring heavily and we doubt the performance would be held, hence we change our destination to Great World. There was no suitable timing for the movie that we wanna watch. While strolling around in Great World, it was drizzling now and we decided to head back to National Museum. The Golden House Book. Last year was Surrounding David by Titarubi. Love tank (The Temple).

Sunday, 10 August 2008. We went to Singapore Art Museum (SAM) and Asia Civilisation Museum (ACM) today. SAM is located on Bras Basah Road which is opposite SMU and is within walking distance from the National Museum. SAM stands for Singapore Art Museum. If I remember correctly, these 5 "dolls" were previously situated along the Singapore river at Clarke Quay. If this is part of my house. Isn't the lights unique? Notice that the 1st goddess is carrying a laptop? We continued to our next destination - Asia...

A–Z TRavel Snapshots [C]

A–Z TRavel Snapshots [C]. Thursday, 22 October 2009. Ten million people and no traffic lights make it impossible for pedestrians to cross the road. The bazaar, bigger than Istanbul’s, and the nighttime backstreets with medieval workshops and intricate architecture, still reek of the exotic. Norman Douglas’s land. And mine, with Lunch with Elizabeth David. A perfect theme park. I once saw turtles swimming in the Canal du Midi here. I used to read anything I could lay my hands on about Al Capone. It&#8...

A-Z Travel Snapshots [D]

A-Z Travel Snapshots [D]. Monday, 30 November 2009. An abiding image of Europe’s greatest river is the mass emigrations devised under the Empress Maria Teresa in the 18th century to populate the eastern end of the Habsburg empire. Families were put aboard rafts at Ulm in Germany and, without any means of propulsion, they simply floated off down river, unable to turn back. We have some red wooden horses from here, a gift from a Swedish lodger who was a little spooky. Nowhere is more mellow in October, the...

A–Z Travel Snapshots [E]

A–Z Travel Snapshots [E]. Monday, 21 December 2009. EAST TIMOR to EVIA. I imagined a green land of dense forest where guerrillas hid, but a woman who has just come back from filming the “cetacean soup” of whales and dolphins that gathers in a global hotspot beside the island tells me it is dry and dusty and has never recovered from the vicious occupation. Christ stopped here. We kept driving. It looked like a sorry southern Italian industrial town. No other Greek site gives such a good idea about day-to-...

A–Z TRAVEL SNAPSHOTS [F]

A–Z TRAVEL SNAPSHOTS [F]. Monday, 21 December 2009. Music to drown to. All the melancholia of the Atlantic, songs of colourless, limpid, impotent tragedy. Puffins, eiders (“Cuddy Ducks”) and Grace Darling rowing out into the ghastly gloaming of the merciless North Sea. A rough and magic place. An attractive, low-rise town with a highly cultured woman in the tourist office. How come this is the capital of the cheapo holidays? Vlissingen in Dutch. What other place names have the English made their own?

A-Z Travel Snapshots [G]

A-Z Travel Snapshots [G]. Monday, 21 December 2009. Quiet nights, lamplights on cobbled streets, the fountain on the lake. Scrumping apples in the sun with all day to walk nowhere, wondering how far it is to Byron’s castle at Chillon. On the Black Sea. It has been on my mind to visit for years, and the Georgian café near Columbia Road market, with an exotic couple from Tiflis and fabulous breakfasts, only increased the desire. One of the most successfully imagined cities. There are more than fifty native...
