The lake is about eleven kilometers long and four kilometers wide. The “Aalbude” is located at the northern end of the lake. Here the river Peene leaves the lake on its way to the Baltic Sea. We take the tiny ferry to the other side and have our first rest. The shore of the lake is marshy and almost not accessible. Near Neukalen the river Peene enters the lake.
