Things that may or may not be of interest. April 19, 2015. Ah, mid-April in Cairo. You might think the term “mid-April in Cairo” would conjure up images such as lounging by a pool, riding a camel at the pyramids, enjoying a breezy afternoon sunset at the Red Sea, or lazing on a lounge chair in the garden. And you wouldn’t be incorrect. Just add MILLIONS OF FLIES to the picturesque equation. This went on for a few years, and we were happily fly-less… and had really good forehands. Until a few weeks ago.

Things that may or may not be of interest. March 13, 2015. There’s this new Lebanese restaurant that opened up in our ‘hood. The restaurant’s called Beirut. It’s located in this fancy food court that has a number of coffee shops, ice cream places, cafes, steakhouses, etc. The inside of Beirut. Check out the lampshades! The floor tiles are pretty cool, too. Apparently they were imported from Lebanon. The menu isn’t half bad. All of the chairs are covered with a different print of fabric.

Things that may or may not be of interest. March 13, 2015. One thing I’ll absolutely miss about Egypt is the desert. This is the second year that I’ve organized a sandboarding trip for work. The dunes are about a two hour drive from Cairo, and it’s fantastic to get out of the city. Sandboarding is very similar to snowboarding. Landcruisers are pretty cool. This entry was posted in Egypt.
