Traceur Chris Grant - Glasgow Parkour: April 2009
http://traceurchrisgrant.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Traceur Chris Grant - Glasgow Parkour. My thoughts and experiences as a traceur and parkour coach. Tuesday, 28 April 2009. Following the fact that i have a couple of niggling foot/ankle injuries i've had to restrain myself from working on jump distance and 'big' and 'scary' stuff which is disappointing as i feel i've let this slip a little the last few months. I'll need to get back to it, but injury recovery must take priority. Lifestyle and Routine Changes. The past week in London has allowed me to get ...

Traceur Chris Grant - Glasgow Parkour: December 2007

Traceur Chris Grant - Glasgow Parkour. My thoughts and experiences as a traceur and parkour coach. Wednesday, 19 December 2007. Learning to Learn and 'Useless' Techniques. Ive been thinking a lot lately about how instinctive my body is becoming in the way it responds to obstacles and movement. Just simply assessing why I've moved a certain way. This language and vocabulary idea is a great metaphor for what I'm trying to explain. The same applies with my 'vocabulary of movement.' As your movemment and...

Traceur Chris Grant - Glasgow Parkour: The quiet week and this week (18-31/05)
http://traceurchrisgrant.blogspot.com/2009/05/quiet-wee-and-this-week-18-3105.html
Traceur Chris Grant - Glasgow Parkour. My thoughts and experiences as a traceur and parkour coach. Tuesday, 26 May 2009. The quiet week and this week (18-31/05). So I almost completely rested up last week, hence the fact that I never posted. I had some coaching and meetings, and the week before my ankle rehabilitation was going really well, so i decided to rest from pretty much all movement and just focus on doing ankle excercises every day. I broke a few new jumps today, and got some back that used to b...

Free your mind: Going home
http://ronnies-training.blogspot.com/2009/04/going-home.html
Monday, April 20, 2009. This weekend I had a quick visit in my old hometown. To spend some time with my mom, my little brother and my old friends from "tha hood" :). Had a great time, and it was really fun to catch up with old friends, even tho time wasnt enough to hook up with all of those I would have liked too. We spent all day training, and my body felt pretty sore when I got back to my moms later in the evening! Also, on sunday when I was going home. I knew that the people in Uppsala had the reg...

Saturday, April 25, 2009. I read a blog entry on parkour generations there other day about mental challenges, and I was really intrigued by the challenge the author of the post issued to all the readers. Go out, and find a challenge. Doesnt have to be hard or spectacular, just something you dont dare, or have been able to do, but suddenly have lost the confidence to do now. Confront your fears, and do it. Overcome the mental obstacle! Here is the blog entry:. Monday, April 20, 2009. We spent all day trai...

Free your mind: November 2008
http://ronnies-training.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 25, 2008. Today was a day of rest. My body felt sore today. Just done a few minor indoor exercises with my dumbell and my body as weight. Yesterday, was a good day tho. I took the oppurtunity of having lots of snow here as we usually dont. So I went outside, and trained backflips. Did lots of em outside. Not on completly flat ground tho. Did some in a small slope, and from a higher elevation. Was good fun tho, and helped alot with my mental challenges. Sunday, November 23, 2008. Winter ...

Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Forgot to mention in earlier post. Padwork seen students rotating partners and taking turns on the pads for teacher lead drills. We worked on throwing the left kick and how to throw it from different angles, covering your intentions etc. To end the session we warmed down with footwork drills and demonstrated yaang saam khum. Hopefully we can stick to this and make the class interesting but structured in a useful way for working within a one hour time constraint. I write things ...
