munchmom: October 2005
http://munchmom.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 31, 2005. I am happy. Happier than I have been in years. I wake up happy, looking forward to each day. I do not regret quitting my job for one minute. I am happy. I am enjoying this time tremendously. But what do I do with my ambitions and expectations? Can I just store those away in Rubbermaid containers in the garage, along with the snowshoes and painting supplies, and pull them out again when I am ready to restart my career? munchmom: August 2005
http://munchmom.blogspot.com/2005_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 29, 2005. We have amassed an amazing amount of luggage. I am still not quite sure how it all adds up, but there you have it - two suitcases packed to the brim, one daypack/child carrier, one diaper bag/purse, one stroller, one travel guitar, one computer case/backpack. Well, we only have so many limbs with which to carry luggage and child. In this life you have to make choices, and I choose not to transport a carseat among planes, trains, taxis, and metros. Planet Haolewood: January 2007

A toolbox, a change of underwear, and a surfboard. Tuesday, January 16, 2007. My friends, I feel your pain. But together we can make it through the winter cold. I want to help so I have come up with a list of practical suggestions for what to do when it REALLY gets cold. 1 Start by turning off any fans that you may have on. No sense it bringing more outside air in if its cold out. 3 Put on a shirt. 1 Try closing the windows. If it gets stuffy you can always open them again. 2 Put on long pants. On a more...

Planet Haolewood: July 2006
http://planethaolewood.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
A toolbox, a change of underwear, and a surfboard. Sunday, July 23, 2006. The central part of the island has captured my imagination. It is truly an untamed wilderness. It’s there, but you can’t get to it and you can only catch glimpses of its edges when the clouds part but what you do see is a wonderland of lush mountains and innumerable waterfalls. Beyond those waterfalls lies a huge swamp at over 5000’ above sea level. The mystery is irresistible. Posted by BOR-ee-us @ 4:26 PM. Sunday, July 16, 2006.

Planet Haolewood: Molokai Moments
http://planethaolewood.blogspot.com/2009/05/molokai-moments.html
A toolbox, a change of underwear, and a surfboard. Saturday, May 16, 2009. People come from all over the world to Kauai for quiet and relaxation but have you ever wondered where those who live here go to get away from it all? When the crowds, traffic and hectic pace of life on Kauai finally get to you, consider Molokai; this sleepy nub makes Kauai downright urbane. So why the picture of the phone booths? A toolbox, a change of underwear, and a surfboard. Wednesday, March 11, 2009. Grey skies seemed about to drizzle the day I wished my sister and her family good-bye, left the cozy enclave of the Indian Institute of Science and began the solo part of my trip. A jolly auto-rickshaw driver dropped my off at the train station. Ticket in hand I went to look for the train to Mysore. Maybe it’s difficult to understand my fear. After all the world was my oyster, right? I had been laid off from my job and had move...

A toolbox, a change of underwear, and a surfboard. Thursday, August 31, 2006. Six things I like about Kauai. 1 The Princeville (aka Haolewood) dump is open seven days a week until 5:30, it’s free and you never have to wait. Most dumps that I’ve been to charge by the ton, have long lines and inconvenient hours. 2 Surfing and current surf conditions are a legitimate topic of conversation. You will still be treated as an adult if you bring them up. Posted by BOR-ee-us @ 12:13 AM. Tuesday, August 29, 2006.

A toolbox, a change of underwear, and a surfboard. Wednesday, June 28, 2006. Some people who move to Hawaii simply take up residence on the beach. While I enjoy camping I decided not to go that route. I ended up living in a town unlike any place I would ever have pictured as my home. Posted by BOR-ee-us @ 12:01 AM. Friday, June 23, 2006.
