Of Bikes and Men: A Culmination of Experience
http://brianmarkley.blogspot.com/2013/08/a-culmination-of-experience.html
Of Bikes and Men. Friday, August 16, 2013. A Culmination of Experience. Prior to the race I received a huge confidence boost on Wednesday as I improved my five minute power by 47 watts. This was over a 10% increase and confirmed that at least my legs were ready for the task at hand. So with the car loaded up I headed up to Millersburg, PA and what would prove to be an incredible weekend. Now about you and Mr. Green at the 2014 edition of Battenkill;-). Of Bikes and Men: Page Valley RR - A microcosm of a season...
http://brianmarkley.blogspot.com/2011/08/page-valley-rr-microcosm-of-season.html
Of Bikes and Men. Sunday, August 7, 2011. Page Valley RR - A microcosm of a season. Heading into the race this year it was hard to know what to expect - all of my races from June and earlier had yielded nothing better than pack finishes or even worse, getting dropped (thankfully no appearances as of yet on "You Got Dropped". But they clobbered me by four and five minutes respectively (ouch! Enter gratuitous whining and crying:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Bicycle Outfitters Racing Team Sponsors.

Of Bikes and Men: April 2011
http://brianmarkley.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Of Bikes and Men. Thursday, April 7, 2011. The importance of eating on the bike. It will become more and more important to get nutrition dialed in on the bike. I hope that the lessons I learned from this past weekend will serve me well as I attempt the biggest day of racing (mileage wise) of my racing hobby thus far. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Of Bikes and Men: One small step...
http://brianmarkley.blogspot.com/2012/03/one-small-step.html
Of Bikes and Men. Monday, March 5, 2012. Despite having the support of an excellent coach in Bill Gros. During the mid-week doldrums when the sheer mental effort of training and teaching seemed too much. This past Sunday represented my last day of base training. Much like Page Valley was a microcosm of my season last year, Sunday represented the shift I have made both physiologically and mentally as a rider. Like each of the past two years, Patrick. Of Bikes and Men: CBC Snowcone #3
http://brianmarkley.blogspot.com/2012/02/cbc-snowcone-3.html
Of Bikes and Men. Tuesday, February 28, 2012. This past weekend served as a chance to gauge my fitness as the end of base training draws near. Despite lacking much in the way of intense workouts in my training my consistency has been leaps and bounds ahead of last year (not saying much). Carytown Bicycle Company's Snowcone Training series would serve as the first testing grounds of the 2012 Cycling Season. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Of Bikes and Men: Mid-Season Musings
http://brianmarkley.blogspot.com/2011/05/mid-season-musings.html
Of Bikes and Men. Wednesday, May 11, 2011. I have raced three weekends and had a week long training camp since my last post. The results from Fulton, Tour de Ephrata, and Jefferson Cup were lacking, but the legs are starting to come around. Your post does not account for catching the plague and missing the race! Of Bikes and Men: March 2011
http://brianmarkley.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Of Bikes and Men. Sunday, March 20, 2011. Richmond marked the start of the 2011 season for me and it could not have started off at a cooler venue. Flat criteriums are really not a specialty of mine but I must admit even I was in awe as I drove through the tunnel into the infield of Richmond International Raceway. The goals for today's race were simple:. 1) Keep it rubber side down. 2) Finish in the bunch. 3) Get in an hour of fast paced riding. 4) See if Patrick could set me up at the finish. That instea...

Of Bikes and Men: April 2012
http://brianmarkley.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Of Bikes and Men. Monday, April 9, 2012. Early April is a mid-Atlantic cyclist's dream. With the early season classic of Jefferson Cup in the rear-view mirror (Mother Nature permitting of course) the time for racing has begun in earnest. No early season would be complete without taking part in one of JR Petsko's. The drive to Morgantown is beautiful, with the endless undulating hills and rustic scenery. No less inspiring was the constant sight of other like-minded individuals headed for self-induced ...
