This piece uses text and a chronological edit to recount elements of a 17 mile walk back to my old hometown one evening attempting to find some element of direction. 9 Airplanes ↓. On the edge of the city. 2031 I see a plane land. I see a plane take off, I see another plane. I try to imagine how all those people feel. I can smell the sea I can hear it too. But I can't see it. 2359 I keep walking. And finally I see the sea. I smell it, and listen to it. And wonder how all those people felt 0652.
