The World in a Nutshell

The World in a Nutshell. Okay, the world as I see it from my nutshell). Sunday, September 23. Here's my little rant for the month: if our Canadian dollar is now worth the same as the American dollar, why are we still paying $1.39 for our value menu at McDonald's? The Americans pay $1 for the same items! Some people could say that it is due to importing fees, transporting fees, etc but I happen to know that McDonald's sources it's food locally, so as to keep costs down. Posted by Jenn @ 10:39 AM. The World in a Nutshell: Exams, Exams...when will they be over???

http://www.theworldinanutshell.blogspot.com/2006/12/exams-examswhen-will-they-be-over.html

The World in a Nutshell. Okay, the world as I see it from my nutshell). Friday, December 15. Exams, Exams.when will they be over? I am currently procrastinating studying for my third exam.a big one in Accounting. It's worth 50% of my final grade, and I haven't been keeping up with the studying throughout the term. This is probably the first course I've had where it really would have been necessary to do so. Feeling Peanut move around is pretty cool, although still kinda creepy. Posted by Jenn @ 11:19 AM.

The World in a Nutshell: Happy New Year!

http://www.theworldinanutshell.blogspot.com/2006/12/happy-new-year.html

The World in a Nutshell. Okay, the world as I see it from my nutshell). Thursday, December 28. I finished exams on the 19th, and we took off for Vancouver Island that Friday. We're still relaxing, eating Jason's mom's food, preparing our bodies for the next inevitable freezer blast in January. Did you know that they coldest it's ever gotten here in Port Alberni (the last 3 years) is -6? Will be having Christmas this coming weekend with the rest of the family, a New Yearmas or something like that.

The World in a Nutshell: Out With the Old

http://www.theworldinanutshell.blogspot.com/2007/04/out-with-old.html

The World in a Nutshell. Okay, the world as I see it from my nutshell). Thursday, April 5. Out With the Old. Here are some pics of our bathroom pre-demolition. The previous owners did some really creative stuff with the tub surround, as you will see. I'm still tiling, etc. on the new bathroom, but things are coming along really nicely. Thank goodness we ripped this out! Posted by Jenn @ 11:00 AM. Where's the money shot? I love good food, good fun, and the truly great friends and family I have.

The World in a Nutshell: Offense

http://www.theworldinanutshell.blogspot.com/2007/02/offense.html

The World in a Nutshell. Okay, the world as I see it from my nutshell). Thursday, February 22. I have been thinking a lot lately about freedom. Some people say that we should be free to do whatever we want, and if other people are offended, then it is their problem. Some feel so strongly the need to please others that they can't ever do anything they want. Is there a happy medium? To be ourselves unashamedly? To be considerate of those around us? Posted by Jenn @ 3:08 PM. I spent a few years teaching mys...

Monday, March 26, 2007. I no longer have any ankles. Quite surprising to look down and see leg, then foot with no little bone bump as usual. Explains why my body has felt like a bunch of connected water balloons lately. Posted by Jenn at 1:45 PM. Friday, March 23, 2007. Actually, it's my friend's snowman - she made it at work a couple of days ago. maybe to usher in summer! In the 26 years I've lived in Canada, I've seen it snow in every month! Ponderings of an Odd Mind. Deep thoughts, observances, rants and stuff from everyone's friend, J. Friday, October 29, 2004. I was just listening to this song, and was marveled - once again - by the lyrical content. I'm sharing the words here, tho to fully capture the fullness of this song, you really must listen to the song. Kevin Prosch is indeed a musical poet. Mystify, arouse, and confuse me. Shatter all my plans and illusions, that I might lose my way. Don't let me see the path or the light. And the ...

Ponderings of an Odd Mind. Deep thoughts, observances, rants and stuff from everyone's friend, J. Tuesday, May 24, 2005. While driving home from this last trip out-of-town, I was reminded of a saying I once heard:. Do today what others won't, so you can do tomorrow what others can't.". It's like a tree. it starts with just a little seed, but, over time, trees become some of the largest organisms on the planet. Whenever we start something new, we should count the cost; however, that cost must be weighed o...

Ponderings of an Odd Mind. Deep thoughts, observances, rants and stuff from everyone's friend, J. Monday, November 29, 2004. Jam or Peanut Butter. I'm sitting here just baffled at how long my weekend seemed. I wonder if it's because it was jam-packed full of stuff, or is it more like I was trudging through peanut butter? My perception of time has really gone out the window - I find it hard to see that there was only one day between Friday night and Sunday. Yet, there is hope! The Redeemer. He. Even thoug...
