Jungle jim in paradise. Taking over the world one salva vida at a time. Friday, March 31, 2006. I love those sunsets that have to fight their way through the clouds sending spokes of colored light in every direction before finally diving into the sea. Especially when i can share them with friends from the tranquila bar dock. with an ice cold beer. And the longer you're here the harder it gets to let new people in. i know it's the same in "real life" it's just that it seems more noticable here. It's time ...

jungle jim in paradise: November 2006
http://jungleinparadise.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Jungle jim in paradise. Taking over the world one salva vida at a time. Sunday, November 26, 2006. It's been about ten days since the rainy season turned everything perpetually grey and wet. I'm not complaining because it's actually kind of neat the way the dive shop shakes with every set of swells and the tin roof makes it virtually impossible to ignore the rains incessant pleading for all of your attention. As a matter of fact i'm starting to love it. Tell me this ain't paradise! Links to this post.

Jungle jim in paradise. Taking over the world one salva vida at a time. Sunday, June 25, 2006. Happy shiny new instructors. Utila has produced yet another crop of outstanding instructors. well, out standing in the garden anyway. From right to left: Dale (South Africa), Peter (Course Director), Jenni (USA), Geoff (Canada), and Gene (Canada). I m not sure how that other guy got in the picture. (I m not exactly sure what he was doing in the garden, either.). Where s the salva vida? Where s the bbq? And not ...

Jungle jim in paradise. Taking over the world one salva vida at a time. Wednesday, October 25, 2006. This mornings sunset was full of red today. very beautiful with streaks of light coming through some very ominous looking dark grey clouds. I guess rainy season has arrived. it's been raining pretty hard almost every night and sporadically during the day. The good side of this is that:. 1) it's earlier than last year and,. The bad side is:. 2) the rain is horizontal. Posted by jungle at 9:00 AM. I'm proud...

jungle jim in paradise: August 2006
http://jungleinparadise.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Jungle jim in paradise. Taking over the world one salva vida at a time. Friday, August 25, 2006. Yeah, i know.everyone is writing about the celestial body formerly known as pluto losing its planetary status. Imagine a bunch of astronomers hanging out in a dingy cafe (what else do they have to do, really? Knocking back a few budvars and talking about their recent "symposium" in orlando. I hear ya, brother! He ain't no star! Interestingly "star", in drunken czech, sounds a lot like "planet" in drunken czech.

Jungle jim in paradise. Taking over the world one salva vida at a time. Sunday, May 28, 2006. Zen and the art of scuba instruction. I've been sitting here trying to think of something witty to write and i've just had a flash of insight. an epiphany you might say. I'm just not that witty. So i've decided to babble on about something i know a little bit about and like a lot. Teaching people how to teach people how to scuba dive. There are currently five CDs on utila. Phil (the most aussie one) at Deep Blue.

Jungle jim in paradise. Taking over the world one salva vida at a time. Saturday, April 22, 2006. As you can see from my sidebar i just found out that my blog is totally worthless. Actually not true because i already got a free beer for mentioning tranquila bar in a previous post.nah, nah, nah! I love things like this, though. the little reminders that life throws you every now and then that you're really just a human being after all. And the timing, as usual, is perfect. jungle jim in paradise: December 2006
http://jungleinparadise.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Jungle jim in paradise. Taking over the world one salva vida at a time. Tuesday, December 19, 2006. So i'm at the dive shop early and decide to make a little coffee. I take the basket with yesterdays grounds still in it and reach out to shake. It into the sea off the dock. Apparently the basket has been waiting for this for a long time. It sees it's chance and makes a mad leap into the crashing surf. Forgetting it's made of plastic, it tries to dive down and out of my sight. I see a pvc pipe. The island ...

http://jungleinparadise.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Jungle jim in paradise. Taking over the world one salva vida at a time. Monday, July 31, 2006. My usual diving buddy went on a deep dive without me the other day. He came back without an arm. the left one. ( the inflator/deflator arm.) this will drastically influence his future diving style. He lost his feet in a previous dive while posing as a "missing diver". An unfortunate octopus encounter. You can probably see how out of sorts he looks. Posted by jungle at 9:22 AM.
