https://dancinggecko.wordpress.com/2013/07/20/building-a-chilli-farm-at-home
All Things Natural, Local and Nutritionally Good. Send me a message:. Building a Chilli Farm at Home. July 20, 2013. July 20, 2013. This year, I have never eaten so many chillies. I’m throwing chillies in to nearly everything I cook. I can’t seem to get enough of them, so it made sense to try to grow my own. Starting with the classics. To start myself off I picked up a pack of seeds that contained three classic chilli varieties:. Planting properly for a change. Planting out the seedlings. Once the seedli...

All my random interests in one place. Holiday to see the Northern Lights – Iceland 2014. We arrived in Reykjavik to rain, which quickly turned to heavy snow. This was a mixed blessing. When we had landed, the sight of miles of black sand and ash, rocks and dead grass had been a little depressing. The snow made everything look magical. However, the rain and snow meant that the weather was totally unsuitable for seeing the Aurora. We were concerned, but not too much so. The spa uses the heat from the hot v...

Carrot & Cashew Nut Cake – Crafty Sew & Sow

Crafty Sew and Sow. A blog dedicated to making and growing pretty things. Carrot and Cashew Nut Cake. July 30, 2014. There’s something about a summer’s day that makes me really fancy a bit of cooling sweet carrot cake. I love the way it sounds healthy, though despite its long association with health food shops it’s far from healthy! Sure you can hide some veggies and some nuts in there but it’s still a naughty little cake. And I love a naughty little cake! A Ticket to Rye. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

New soap moulds and colours | cwyl
https://cwyl.wordpress.com/2015/11/17/new-soap-moulds-and-colours
All my random interests in one place. In Baking and brewing. New soap moulds and colours. The new soaps curing next to the last of the previous batch. After a long while using the soaps I last made, I decided that it was time to make some more so that it had time to harden into better bars before I needed it. I was a bit unsure about justifying spending a lot of money on silicone moulds, and almost as unsure about how easy the cheaper plastic moulds would prove to be when it came to getting the soaps out.

Second go at soapmaking – going slightly mad! | cwyl
https://cwyl.wordpress.com/2014/02/22/second-go-at-soapmaking-going-slightly-mad
All my random interests in one place. Second go at soapmaking – going slightly mad! Today I have had another go at making soap, and I decided to try several different things with the base soap. This may or may not turn out to be a good idea, but at least the experiment should teach me something. I only have two pieces of soap left from my previous batch, so I needed to make some more now and give it time to cure. Here it is:. Quite a few essential oils. Optional extras for soap. I measured out the oils a...
