Sunday, July 13, 2014. Our latest movie-themed party was for Disney's Frozen. Frozen has been memorized and reenacted many times in this house and as this video attests, the songs are well loved too. So the party was a must. We made snacks- ice covered trees, frozen hearts, polar ice-cap sodas and Olaf the Snowman donuts. Everyone contributed to the snow themed treats. Court approved of them all and could hardly wait to dig in. Miya as Princess Elsa and Luca as Princess Anna. Yay for a bloggy catch up!

Thursday, July 10, 2014. Another year in Rocky Mountain National Park! This spring we were there one week after a late, but major snowstorm. Many of our trail plans were rearranged but we still logged a lot of miles with great views. First off, the obligatory annual photo op:. On day two we got significantly higher up. Our most ambitious hike of the trip was a six mile round trip, most of it in deep, deep snow pack. Luca was amazing. Every step on her own two (and at one point very cold) feet.

Small world that it is, I got to talking to the gentleman leading the horses and figured out (having thought he looked familiar) that he was our country mailman when I was little!
