Dienstag, 23. März 2010. Am Sonntag machten wir uns auf die Suche nac den Thames Barriers. Die Barriers gehörten zu den weltweit grössen Flutschutzwehren. das heisst, sie sollen London von aussergewöhnlich hohen Fluten aus der Nordsee schützen, insbesondere von Sturmfluten. Die Barriers hat eine länge von 520 Metern und besteht aus 10 schwenkbaren Toren. Innerhalb von 15 minuten können die Barrieren geschlossen werden, was sehr schnell sein soll :-).
