Somehow, we always made it home alive and in one piece, with plenty of near death experiences, of course, to share with my hysterical mother. I never understood why the thought of 15 Dads watching 20 - 30 kids was so nerve-racking! Well now I do.

We spent time trying to explain that we would not be making a typical visit - this one would be a new experience for her. The persistent rain was almost enough to call off the trip; however, with only semi-annual trips to CA we decided that we should pay our respects. It was in her favourite colour too! Stuffing in khandvi is optional and can be left plain. Folks at my house did not relish it without the stuffing so I didnt have much of a choice but to add filling. I personally liked either. Recipe adapted from here.
