Let's Talk About It. Sen Rubio’s Cuba. June 18, 2015. Sen Rubio’s Cuba. Today Sen. Rubio posted an editorial in NYT. Essentially he is criticizing President Obama for trying a different approach in Cuba. I don’t get it. After 50 years without any progress Rubio wants to continue the failed policy with Cuba. It is doubtful that a civilized nation would ever launch all-out assaults on the embassies (read sovereign soil) of other nations simply over a newspaper uproar. Does that mean the Muslim nations are not civilized? Why don't they get upset about Muslim cartoons ridiculing Arab and Christian religious icons?
