Sunday, March 29, 2015. You know how sometimes I whinge about the ratio of time spent to results achieved? I pretty much love this kumihimo necklace because the focal is such a stunning piece of agate. And huge which doesn't hurt. I've said it before and I'll say it again: size does. Guess I'll have to try again sometime. I thought I had this one done, but wanted to stitch another sample to verify the timing, and ended up tweaking it a bit after all. Who knew. Links to this post. Tagua Nut Ivory: February 2011
http://taguanutivory.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 7, 2011. Well, this is my first blog. Love to share with other beaders, just like me, who love to bead and are all into any and all beading techniques, especially right-angle weave. A couple of months ago while browsing the internet, I stumbled upon a blog on beaded molecules http:/ thebeadedmolecules.blogspot.com/. Became quite interested and intrigued on figuring out how to bead these. Check the blog, you'll find amazing pieces. Right-angle weave beaded beads. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sunday, December 28, 2014. So Much for Time Off. So holiday weekends, long as they may be, somehow don't lend themselves well to getting things done because there are people around who oddly enough expect you to spend time with them. Mothers and such. I did manage to complete a class sample though. And this thing which keeps on reminding me of an astrolabe even though it honestly doesn't look much like one at all. Apparently I have this circles-and-space theme going here. Links to this post. The register...

Monday, May 25, 2015. Until a couple of weeks ago. Or more, I'm not sure I can keep track. Beaded kumihimo has replaced knitting as my go-to keep-my-hands-busy activity, not because I love it so much, not because it's so very satisfying or tactile, but because it hurts to knit ad my hands do better with gentle activities to keep them lubricated. The hints that is, not the outside. It's not that these are my colours (pastels? In service to my preparations for Bead and Button (next week. And related to not...

Wednesday, June 24, 2015. So I messed around with the beaded beads from Friday and made one into a not especially attractive pendant. Then I made another version of the chaton pendant. Better but still not quite there. I like the idea of a long dangle but I'm not convinced that this is the very best dangle I could make. Then I decided to see if earrings using the same motif would work. Destined for an appointment with scissors, I think. It's not exactly that unusual (the needing the scissors bit). I actu...
