I got Dvorak’s New World Symphony because my dad remembers playing it in high school, at the Interlochen music program in Michigan. Actually, he remembers pretending to play it in the back of the string section at the annual outdoor summer concert. I drove up to a light where a long line of cars, at least twenty of them, waited to turn right. I zipped right on by, the only one turning left. Today, Chicago Booth emailed to inform me that I was being kept on the waitlist. The email wasn’t a surprise, since Round 3 and previously waitlisted applicants that were admitted were called yesterday and I didn’t receive a phone call (again). I experienced a bit of déjà vu yesterday and was bummed that I am in the same spot. 20,000 Miles Later.
