Love and Beauty Shock. Thursday, November 30, 2006. Going to Seoul again, third time in three weeks. That's going to tally up to over 30 hours of time spent on a bus just to get back and forth. Add in the amount of time we actually spend in transit (walking, subways, waiting for subways) and I think the ratio of time getting to places to time actually spent there would be pretty depressing. I wish I could somehow explain positive reinforcement to my host mother and that it's even worse to withhold something from your children until their whining reaches your breaking point than it is to just give in right away. Hopefully it'll be received more positively than the first, on which my thesis reader wrote "This is more than a little disappointing.". Drive up to SF with Gabe and Elissa. Spend a night in Oakland with childhood friends of Gabe's. They cook us a great meal. Comfy bed, cute dogs. Meet up with Lisa in SF! I must have been snoring.
