The Finn Files: October 2012
http://thefinnfiles.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
We celebrated birthdays for Mimi and Bop on Sunday with a delicious lowcountry boil. Charlie made her first road trip and loved all of the extra attention she received. It was great seeing everyone again and celebrating two very special people. Blowing out the candles. Finn stands ready to assist in case of trouble. Charlie cuddling with her aunt Paige. A rare event: the WHOLE FAMILY. The grandkids: Todd, Finn, Mary Daniel, Luke and Amber. Mimi and Bop with the grands. Posted by Robin Lyles. She is growi...

The Finn Files: Babymoon

View from our balcony. I spent most of the week in that pool or under an umbrella. Proof that we were there: the taxi is waiting to take us to the airport. Meanwhile, back at the ranch . . . How in the world did she get Charlie to sit still? Oh, there we go . . . Finally, Charlie being "Charlie". Of course, the requisite "silly face". Thanks for manning the fort and letting us get away! The Finn Files: September: Odds and ends
http://thefinnfiles.blogspot.com/2014/05/september-odds-and-ends.html
September: Odds and ends. I'm jumping around here, but trying to get caught up. Despite my protests, my dear friends hosted a lovely brunch for me and baby Georgia. It felt a little surreal seeing all of the pink! Charlie continues to be herself. Playing hide and seek. A golf cart full of trouble. Watching the annual fire truck parade. Finn trying on his *coast guard hat. We squeezed in one last photo session with the wonderfully talented Banner of Banner Photography. Posted by Robin Lyles.

I dressed up as a pregnant lady, check out my swollen cheeks. Getting ready for the parade. Making skeletons out of q-tips. Usually, I love dressing up and going trick-or-treating, but was not feeling up to it this time. I was so sad to miss the festivities, but snapped a few pictures before Mark and Finn took off. All I really wanted to do was put my feet up and wait for Finn to get back so I could raid his candy. Posted by Robin Lyles. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Keeping up with the Joneses.

Playing hide and seek. Taking in the sights from her "perch". The puppies at about 7 weeks. Pups at about 1 year. Charlie and Fisher at about 10 weeks. Charlie and Fisher rolling around (front and center). Take #1 of the group picture: This one had me laughing out loud . . . Notice Finn's legs (green shoes), he is holding on to Charlie while she drags him through the grass. The other dogs seem to be thinking "what's with her? Caper and her babies. Posted by Robin Lyles. First Day of Kindergarten. Still, I had to wear my sunglasses the first day I picked him up because I teared up when he got off the bus. I am excited for Finn because I know he will have a great year and will have so much fun. He will learn and experience lots of new things and meet lots of wonderful friends. The breakfast of champions. Saying a final goodbye to teddy and night-night. So proud of his Star Wars lunch box that he chose himself. Because he's 5 . . . silly pictures are a must! Take Me Out to...

Welcome to the World: Georgia Claire Lyles. November 21, 2013. 8 lbs 5 oz 21 inches. She's here, finally! I really cannot describe what it felt like to hold her for the very first time. I just felt so relieved that she was healthy and grateful that she was actually in my arms. Pretty sure he's already wrapped around her tiny little finger. Posted by Robin Lyles. Going to the hospital. We're getting ready to have us a baby! Note the differences in our faces in the two pictures:. Posted by Robin Lyles.

You know how sometimes you just happen to be in the right place at the right time and because of that rare instance when everything happened to line up just so and something wonderful happens? Anyway, Jack had planned this huge surprise party with all of her family and friends, rented out a restaurant and hired one of her favorite singers to play a private concert just for the party! It was a wonderful treat and I'm so thankful these ladies took time (and found babysitters) to make this afternoon work.

Charlie Update: 8 months. I would be lying if I said that I didn't want Charlie to be just like Lily. Because I really did. What's not to love about Lily? For Finn, that dog (God-willing) will be Charlie. Hopefully, she will be with him through elementary, middle, high school and beyond. He will remember Lily (because she still has lots of good years left). But most likely, he will grow up with Charlie. And for that I love her dearly. The Queen on her throne. I spy with my little eyes . . . We've had a b...
